COMPUTER STATISTICS:

CABLE

512 MB

PROGRAMS: (I've used to clean and firewalls)

eTrust EZ Firewall
eTrust EZ Antivirus
eTrust PestPatrol
Registry Fix
Advanced System Optimizer
Microsoft Antispyware
Spyware Doctor
Registry Mechanic
Tweaknow Powerpack 2006
SpeedUpMyPC

PROBLEM:

- Get booted after playing Renegade for about 15 minutes.
- The Ping increases suddenly to around 2000 sometimes.
- Other internet programs work fine, and so do other games.
- No matter what server I play for around 15-20 minutes and then my ping rises and I get disconnected. I rapidly close Renegade and other internet prorams work fine. Sometimes I play for 30 minutes before my ping rises.

ALREADY TRIED:

- I already moved to a new house and got a new router and still happens.
- Reinstalled
- Checked for spyware/adware/viruses using multiple programs.
- Defragged
- Open/Closed necessary ports for Renegade.
- Tried going direct from modem.
- Ran Registry Defragmentors several times.
- Disabled all firewalls including windows firewall.
- Ran firewalls and I still get booted.
- Downloaded core patches and rengaurd. ( www.rengaurd.com )
- Already tried without Rengaurd doesn't work. ( www.rengaurd.com )
- Updated Renegade using the Auto Update.
- Downloaded update manually from mirror.
- Kickin my computer!
- Using a different computer.
- Closing all programs that Renegade doesn't need.
- Deleting all internet related files (Prefetch Folder, Cookies, etc.)

MY OPINION:

I suspect I may be getting incoming PING from a different player in the server. I tried using my firewall to block INCOMING PING but it won't work. I have searched programs on how to PING players. I found 2 programs which may indicate this is the problem.

Colonel
Posting those programs get you banned, but you are lucky there is a filter.

If you think someone specifically aims for YOU, ask your ISP to change your IP, and in renegade, change your nickname.

Did you reinstall this way?
- Uninstall Core Patch
- Uninstall Renguard
- Uninstall Renegade
- Delete Renegade folder (backup skins and maps you need first, but in this situation, you could as well not use any to see if it works)
- Delete registry entries (if you know how)
- Reboot
- Install Renegade
- Update to 1.037 (download it manually from ftp.westwood.com/pub/renegade (updates folder))
- Go online and play without Renguard or Core Patch to see if it works.
- If it does, try installing RG. Try it now.
- If it also works with RG, try Core Patch.
- If it works THEN gg.
