I feel this is an interesting subject: Do certain software developers rig the performance to be better for either Nvidia or ATI video cards?

For example: games that come little sheets "saying nvidia: the way it's meant to be played" such as in World of
Warcraft and Battlefield 2.

What do you think about this? Will these games be rigged to run better with the video card they're promoting? Yes or No?

I personally think they do to a certain degree.

It is nothing more than a promotion. There may be optimizations towards that brand more than the other, but that is it.

The games will run a (tiny) bit better, but just because one game supports one card manufacturer shouldn't change which card you buy.

No, it is because nVidia/ATi paid Company X to place their logo in the game.

Nope, it's because they worked with the company during development, and helped them fully utilise the potential of their cards, rather than just the standard multi-card components. (Shader 3.0 for Nvidia would be a good example)
