Reviews by people who have played the game through ALL THE WAY AT LEAST ONCE. And I'd have to be at least somewhat familiar with the reviewer.
Alternately, there are games I know I'm going to like before they even come out. A few examples I can name would be Star Wars: Empire at War (Petroglyph), Half-Life 2: Aftermath (Valve), and Starsiege:2845 (Clancore). I'd buy any of the above on opening day (provided I had the cash and either the bandwidth for online distro or the gas to go to a store) if all I knew was the title, because the developers behind each are committed to turning out a quality product.
