1.Can you use RenegadeIP/+connect with a pure WOL server (i.e. one not running wolspy etc?) I tried it myself and I cant make it work. What port do I use? (where do I set that?)
2.When you are connected, does your computer send the data directly to the FDS or does it go through a WOL/XWIS machine?
and 3.Where can I download that software like wolspy that lets you run a WOL server on GSA too?

1. Yes you are able to connect to a pure WOL server using RenIP/+connect. The port it up to the server admins and it seems to me that it only works if your Reneagde is no already Open.

2. Havn't got a clue, but I would say it would be directly to the FDS.

3. I don't think latest version is on the beaconpedestal website so you can download it here: http://www.xphazegaming.com/downloads/WOLSPYBuild22.rar

What setting in server.ini controls what the port is?
Also, could the fact that I was running the FDS and the client on the one machine (with -multi) be why +connect wasnt working?

Not to sure about the multi thing, but,

Port = 0 in server.ini. If it is set to 0 it is going to be random so set it to somethin like 4002 and you should be able to connect.

Yes, prolly.

The port is set in server.ini AND in brenbot.cfg . It must be the same port. RenRemLinuxPort (in brenbot.cfg) - Set this to the same port as specified in the server.ini (RemoteAdminPort).

When it's set to 0, +connect and renip won't work.

Yes, connnecting with ip:port works on WOL servers, but does
not work if the FDS is on the same computer.

When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter then "Yes"
