You mean they resell servers from servermatrix.com? If you want your own dedicated renegade server then I would suggest purchasing a dedicated server from servermatrix.com. An entry level server from them would give you enough power to run a decent renegade server.
If you're worried about not knowing how to setup your server I guarantee you the people here would be willing to help. In the rare case that they wouldn't help you I would be willing to. As long as you actually try to run your own server and don't try to get the people here to.
Unless you only want a small 8-12 person server I would highly suggest just getting a dedicated server. You can consider the slightly higher price as a learning experience. It gives you a hands on opportunity to learn server management.
