The war in Iraq was not about oil. The reason our gas prices went up is because the oil rigs out near the Gulf and Florida were shut down or damaged because of the hurricanes.

While I'd love to agree with you, I can't help but notice that the oil companies netted some 8 billion dollars during these high gas price times.

I don't know about you, but getting that much money surely means they're going to spend a good portion of it on getting more refineries to help reduce the gas prices? Umm... yeah... sure... whatever... if you really want to think so. But let's face facts: building more refineries isn't good for business when you're already settings records with your current supply / demand ratio.
