Changed recs.txt, but doesn't seem to work [message #181389]

K i changed the wording on a lot of the recs and made them a bit funnier, but it doesn't seem to take effect on the server. Its been restarted many times since then, and it still shows the original recs. Any reason for this? I've also rehashed and all that jazz

Are you sure you put it in the correct brenbot directory? Our server has (a bit unfortunate) 2: one on the root and one that was installed standard in renegadeserver. Maybe you changed in the wrong directory?

there is only 1 recs.txt, and it is installed under the 'brenbot' directory. I edited the file directly, so I still confuzed why it won't pick up the changes.

make sure that the file changes have actually been saved, open it up and see what its contents are..

the simple things are often the cause....

thanks for the advice, but i've done that a few times. The changes are definitely there, and its the only recs.txt file on the server. Frankly I have no idea where its getting the old recs from to be able to display them.
