you would go by how things are needed? we don't need antibiotics, but you're pretty grateful for that, hey? It could lead to teh cure for cancer or god knows what else and you're going to turn it down because there might be a slight chance some bad person would use it to live longer? People who are wanted can't exactly escape their whole life, or 6 times that. So how about thinking of the many peoples lives you could save (even if directly it doesn't solve the cure for cancer, what about scientists who could?)

Unfortunately, there are craploads of people who won't agree :/
Cloning and other gene/dna-based research would be extremely valuable, but it's easier said than done. Of course there's a limit in what should be done in the name of science, but simply mentioning the words "gene" "mouse experiment" and "mutation" pretty much gets you sued, prosecuted and burned in a bonefire with <insert religious symbols> poked through your heart nowadays.

But a chemist is making weapons of mass destruction.Take a look at Iraq for an example.
Nukes?Sure, the energy is efficient, but it makes a hell of a "bang".
As for the cancer cure.
Sure it will be great to discover one.I never said i am against that.I smoke and i think that it`d be quite a discovery

I don't think u would have to worry about being old and misserable for 100 years. Very few people would live to 500. Most would die from car crashes or have a much higher chance of being raped and killed before natural death.
