FIXED IT !

Problem solved ... described in replies ... see last reply to post ...

I loose all sound after installing Renguard v1.03?

I downloaded and installed a fresh copy of Renguard (twice).

I have tried unistalling and reinstalling a fresh copy of Renegade.

The sound works fine after re-installing Renegade.

I download and install a fresh copy of Renguard again and no sound at all.

I still have sound on all other programs just no sound in Renegade.

I uninstall renguard and sound is restored?

I have had this PC for 4 years and it use to worked fine with renguard until now. I haven't changed any hardware at all.

Has there been a core patch that is messing things up?

Please help?

LOL YES!

Good One!

I have sound with all other programs.

I also have sound with Renegade before installing Renguard and after I uninstall Renguard.

I have tested this and am absolutely certain that I loose sound immediatley after installing renguard and it returns immediatly after uninstalling renguard?

Thank you for your reply to my post ...

Go into the settings and check the boxes and adjust the volume as needed.

I've done that (twice).

I reset the setting to default and I tried adjusting the settings to MAX.

Besides I am loosing "ALL" sound in Renegade at start up and in the game.

There is absolutely no sound.

Thx,

ez

PS I just now tried it again to be sure.

Installed Renguard ~ went to "Options" ~ boxes are checked ~ no sound ~ tried to set defaults ~ no effect ~ tried to adjust volume ~ no effect.

Opened another game ~ "Far Cry" ~ sound is fine.

Opened Ghost Recon ~ Sound is fine.

Played an mp3 ~ sound is fine.

Uninstalled Renguard ~ sound is back.

I don't download mods at all. The only mappacks I have downloaded are from "UNRULES.COM" I don't download cheats, skins or sounds at all .

Have you tried all the drivers in game configuration?

There's a hole in the sky through which things can fly.

No I didn't check the drivers ... but ...

yes ! Yes !! YES !!!

I found it! Went to sound devices in the control panel and found that sound was being routed through some "Total Recorder"
program instead of directly through my Nvidia SBL card.

Simply selected my SBL card as the primary sound device and that fixed it!

I hate programs that change crap like that!

Should change their name to Total PofC Recorder! (Piece of Cr*P)

Thanks all for your help!

What a pain that was ... and so damn simple!

Anybody else ever has this prob tell them to check their primary sound device ... which I should have known in the first place.

Thx,

ez (ought to change my name to difficultfriday)

I had the same problem when I installed Total Recorder and I totally agree with you. Not only did it eliminate all sound (so I couldn't hear what it was recording), but it wouldn't reset the changes it had made after the trial period was over.
