But be careful, as when RG is installed it replaces game.exe (which is what nocd patches try to patch).

So a person would need to place the game application on the desktop. Change the game2 application to game, install the no cd crack. Change the the application back to game2 and drop the original back into the folder?

No, Rengaurd is not first. Renegade is first, Rengaurd falls near the bottom. This is the last part of my read me file I use after I jack up Windows.

7. reinstall 1.037 patch
8. reinstall no_cd_crack
9. Install Rengaurd
10. install CP1
11. Restart Computer
12. run the configuration for renegade, then the extended configuration in the patch folder.
13. move your wave files back to the data folder.
14. Start the game, bypass the registration and go to Westwood on-line, login mision08
15. reset q is laser.
16. alt tab to desktop and allow renegade to bypass firewall.
17. replace the lucidia font with the following arial text in the stylemgr configuration settings in the data folder.

FONT_INGAME_TXT=Arial MT, 8, 0
FONT_INGAME_BIG_TXT=Arial MT, 16, 0
FONT_INGAME_SUBTITLE_TXT=Arial MT, 14, 0
FONT_INGAME_HEADER_TXT=Arial MT, 9, 1

I did not have to restart or chnage any settings manually and have gotten it wo work Big Grin

I stop several services like anti-virus and anti-spam software before I install programs. Thats just how I do it. If you have a way that works for you, then knock yourself out. As for the lucidia text, it's butt ugly and hard to read. Again, this is just personal preference.

I can't recommend doing that, what happens if you install a program with a virus, which your AV would usually block?
