rg not reconizing me.. [message #179404]

ive been having this problem on and of for about 2-3 months, i connect to renguard and it gives the usual welcome message..

[14:48] Trying to connect to server #1...Connected
[14:48] Secure link established.
[14:48] Welcome to RenGuard , ratfarce9!
[14:48] To launch Renegade, please click 'Renegade'.

when i join games it does not say i am on renguard and people force me.. i look on locater and i am not there.. i have tried on other nicks as well and under none of them can i get on.. earlier today i got the buffer overun msg..
i have xp pro sp1 and i am behind a router not firewalled tho

p.s. i tried to im crimson bout 2 weeks ago an i dnt get a reply.

Aww well, my problem is when i use my [K*19]Admiral-(NL) nickname it will say this:

[18:46] Trying to connect to server #1...Connected
[18:46] Secure link established.
[18:46] Please remove the backslashes from your name, these are not allowed.!

err, somebody sees any backslashes?

I am keeping my birth date anonymous, btw EA killed the C&C universe..........

For some odd reason, some part of Ren wants to backslash-quote asterisks. I have no clue why or how to bypass the asterisk quoting thingy, but try taking out the asterisk...
