I just got an athlon 2400+ which I eventually will overclock. Anyway, I have it at a stock 133MHZ * 15 = 2.0GHZ. Everything works until I click my user in Win XP, then all I get is the desktop picture, but no icons or start menu, it just hangs there. Could somone help me so I can get my computer working? Thanks.

Goodbye and thanks for all the games Westwood!

Some ASUS and VIA chipsets have issues with NVidia cards, XP and Athlon combinations. You can check out the via forums, they have multiple threads with suggested solutions on this problem.

Just so you know I did fix my computer, but all I had to do was reactivate Windows XP after installing my new athlon. For those of you that are curious here are my system specs:
AMD XP 2400+
512MB PC2100 RAM
Geforce 3 Ti 200 w/128MB ram
DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, & CDRW
40GB HDD
