The Kind of Thread You Hate.... [message #177591] |

I've been on these forums since February '03. It's now November '05. I've been here for 2 1/2 years.I know everyone hates these kinds of topics, but too bad; I've been here 2 1/2 years. Some of you know me, some of you don't. Most of the time I would stand back and let most issues take care of themselves. But occasionally, I would make myself known on some issues. Some things I did here I regret, others I'd take to the grave.
I met and talked with people from places I've never been to, and learned a few things. I was planning on still being an active member at 18. However, things have changed. I've realized that this place is holding me back. Yes, this place was great for me in the past, but I'm ready to move on. You see, I've haven't touched Renegade in years. Gaming has been pushed out of my life. I have work, school, and a higher calling to life. I have tires to repair, papers to write, tests to pass, and lives to save. I'm also considering joining the reserves on my 18th birthday (Which would require me getting back in shape!). My life has kicked into high gear this year (rhyme not intended).
AircraftKiller I know I hated you in the past. If you didn't hear it already, I'm sorry. You were an ass, but I had no right to attack you for no reason. You're upfront, honest, and not afraid to tell people the truth.
Warranto, you're the best lawyer I know. Thanks for helping me with my first college research paper.
Javaxcx, sorry for stealing your signature. Thanks for helping me with my academic mind.
Hydra, you seem to have a good hold on life, hold your grip. You, Java, and Warranto, in my opinion, have been holding the forums together. You helped me catch things I didn't see. I might be seeing you somewhere else online.
Doitle, keep it real. You also helped me put things in perspective.
Icedog90 - You've been keeping these forums alive. Thanks for being there.
Bigejoe - You da man!
Crimson, you've done a lot of work for this community and I respect you for that. I'm sorry you can't see a greater truth. I'm sorry if it looked like I bailed out of that topic in the Hot Issues/Politics forum, but I have better things to do than play petty games.
If I forgot you, I'm sorry. Anyway, I'm off to bigger and better things. I believe I just got started on the road of life. I may be back, but I doubt it. I have to look ahead and keep moving forward.
God Bless, Bob out.

Uhhh... I still visit these forums regularly... I just don't post much...
And I'm studying to be a nuclear engineer. I'm passing my classes.
So what?
And besides, saying your life has kicked into "high gear" and then saying that you have to leave these forums because of that kind-of implies that everyone else on these forums have lives that are in "low gear," evidenced by of course the fact that we browse these forums to begin with.
Boo.

Blazer wrote on Thu, 03 November 2005 04:30 | I don't see how keeping up with a forum can "hold you back". Does it really drag down so much of your time? How much time do you spend web browsing other sites, or web surfing in general? I know people who are doctors and lawyers with schedules 400% more busy than most people, and they still find time to send me an email with some stupid spam link from a website they visited.

You'd be suprised. I used to be a member to like 15 forums at one point, 7 of them I was a moderator or higher on....kinda annoying to surf each forum, then go back to the first and reply to the replies....(I was a forum lurker...so what!?) I once spent like 3 hours repeatidly replying to one dude on this one forum....it was like a chat room
OFF TOPIC: When the hell are you gonna get your PC fixed?!
You have a God given right to be stupid. Please do not abuse this right!
