I think you took my comment the wrong way. I was saracasmically criticising the fact that they killed an animal that probably would never have hurt them. If it were me, I would have simply caught the bat and put it outside.

You haven't seen a house with crap EVERYWHERE until you've lived with my family. Trust me: the way the home was in the video is CLEAN compared to my house. And we don't have rodent problems.
