Hello, been awhile since I hopped onto Renegade. Anways, while I was attempting to install Renegade on the 4th computer I owned since I bought the game when it first came out (time flies, as well as going through computers). So I get my Renegade CD case and notice the green "game" disc is missing. I looked everywhere for it but couldn't find it.

Before bothering buying it on ebay or somewhere similar I wanted to try my best to get it working. I have yet to delete the game on previous systems, so out of the 3 older systems only one had a nice, and clean version. The other two either were missing the game.exe due to an uninstall, or was so messy with maps and skins leaking from the data folder to the main Renegade directory.

I burned Renegade onto a DvD (1.5GB just about), and copied it into the folders Westwood/Renegade. Luckily BR was already installed so I clicked through to install the Core Patch. After that was done I clicked on game exe and got this.

Now, I did this exact exercise when I lost one of my StarWars:Battlefront cds. I copied the files from an older system, clicked a file somewhere and typed in the serial key. Though I have no idea where I can input the serial key. Is there any specific file I open up to put in the code?

Did the Registry entries for Ren make the move with the files?

everything that I burned onto the DVD came straight from the Renegade folder on the older computer, I just started up NERO and dragged the whole folder in there. I think I know what files you mean though, they have a wordpad looking icon or something.

Did you copy the registry entries over as well?? If you didn't, that's why Ren can't find its serial

Export registry entries at the old computer, bring it to the new computer, then import it by double clicking the file that you exported on the other computer.

To export:

Start, run, regedit, OK.

Go to this entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Westwood

Right click on the Westwood "folder" and hit export. Give it a name and save on your desktop.

Do the same for this one:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\C07ft5Y\Game

I think that that belongs to Renegade as well.

As far as I know there are no other entries for Renegade.

Good luck.
