I'm having trouble updating my Radeon 9600 pro graphics card. A game called Gangland is being a bi***. I have sent the support staff over 40 emails now and they still can't figure out the problem.

Whats the easiest way to upgrade my graphics card drivers? I installed catalisk or watever it is but it works like shit. Barely anything works and I can't even access the help files.

Is there a separate file I can download that just updates the drivers? Not a whole control panel?

Thanks for the help. Hopefully I can fix the problem and get my game working.

It's not the user, the ATi drivers really do suck horribly. You could try the Omega Drivers. Search Google for them.

Or...just go to www.omegadrivers.net. Damn it it's so hard to give out a simple internet address!

You just download it. I forget where, though. DarkDemin is the one that got it for me. I needed it in order for CLI.exe (ATI's Control Panel) to work properly.

whoa.

Probably because you set them up wrong. You're supposed to do it a special way.

Um.. If you simply download them from ATI.com you can choose which components you want. Assuming you have WinXP: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&a mp;task=knowledge&folderID=293

A week ago, I tried to update to the latest Catalyst drivers. It really did fuck up my computer so bad and it took me an hour before I managed to get the old driver working again. Since then, I wont attempt to use any more Catalyst drivers.

Today, I installed the Omega 5.9 drivers for my X800 Pro. And now BF2 runs smooth as hell (there was quite bad stuttering quite often). But the fact that I found out I had been actually running the Debug version of the DirectX runtime for ages might have added to that :/

So yeah, I'm going to switch to nVidia when I get my next GFX card. Omega drivers for the win!

I want it to run AutoCAD 2006... Sad

I have never had a problem installing ATI drivers. I have installed the last 5 drivers packs they have come out with and have had no problem. One main problem that people have is that they download something that is not for there graphics card. Or they are installing more than they need and are getting compatibility problems.

Actually, that's more of an assumption. Every time I try to install the catalyst drivers for someone, there is ALWAYS a problem and I always have to try every single driver version until it works.

Let me rephrase that, kinda misleading...

I have never had a problem installing ATI drivers. I have installed the last 5 drivers packs they have come out with and have had no problem. One main problem that people I have helped is that they download something that is not for there graphics card. Or they are installing more than they need and are getting compatibility problems.
