FSP Dying [message #172235]

Here is my problem:

I start up Renegade, and I have 60ish fps. I go through all the menus up to the WOL Login, and then my FPS drops to 8, and stays that way for all Games, and the Server screen.. This has never happened to me before...

Video Card: Geforce FX 5500 256 mb with the most recent drivers for the card.

CPU: 2.4 ghz Intel Celeron

RAM: 512 mb (Don't know the kind)

What you have in the menu's doesn't matter at all. You don't have a very good card, but it should still run renegade fine. Make sure you don't have anything using up a lot of CPU or RAM running in the background. Also if you have all your detail settings at high, decrease them.

bandie: in addition to what Renx asked, what resolution do you play the game at? If it's larger than 800x600 on that card, I'd recommend turning down either the resolution or the detail settings (or both).
