I think that crimson should turn off Renguard for a month. Take that money and buy herself and the other members of BHS something nice as a thank you that they don't get from some of you ignorant fucks. All of you that utter functionally retarded bull shit like " Renguard Fuckes up my PC/Renegade/causes lag", "If they don't have Renguard they are cheating", "Renguard has done more harm than good" or "Renguard doesn't work" will come begging her to turn it back on. I personally know that what they do is for the love of a game not some power trip. Wtf kind of power would they get from having control of this game??? I mean really, use your brain before you say something that stupid. With out BHS and their time, energy and money Renegade would be in a sorry sorry state and we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I was thinking something very similar. Everyone complaining about it when its free. We should be thanking Blackhand Studios. I will put it in my sig as appreciation. Satisfied

"ignorant fucks"... that's such an appropriate name for those retards. Only 15 year old children could possibly think we want to "control" this game that a mere 10,000 people still play in this big bad world.

Remember, you all want EA to support the game. They never have and never will. We are the closest thing you will ever get for official support. Love it or hate it, but that's where we are. All we're trying to do is keep the game alive.

I'm the bawss.

Well, we have only 1 issue with BHS...they don't seem to be trying to fix the Buffer Overrun issue in RG. Where are the hordes of regression testers when we need them? P.S. the Buffer Overrun is a REGRESSION from 1.02 to 1.03 and IMHO should have delayed the release...

We are not releasing a fix for 1.03 because 1.04 is imminent and will address that and many other issues.

Seriously, what's with the constant paranoia. The biggest part of the computers are infested with spyware, diallers, virusses, because of people downloading warez, using programs like kazaa and everything. And why is that, because people trust all the BS that is released on the internet, as long as they can download music for free.

But when RG was created, oh no these people must have some bad intentions. RG stole serials, RG had a trojan horse, RG made me ugly.

Seriously, have a bit of respect to these people. They don't earn anything with this, so why do you think they made it. Because they like the game, and wanted to do something good for it. People seem to forget the millions of post about how cheats would kill Renegade, a few years ago.

These people are in this community from the beginning,if they wanted to fuck us they could have done it a long time ago. If crimson wanted to kill the community, she could just pull the plug out of these forums.

Sheesh, If you don't trust these people, I have only one advise:
PULL the plug out of your modem, your safe than from all the evil people on the internet.

-
My respect to BHS, who try to make this game better for us.

Size doesn't matter.

The concept of RG is fine, but I just won't run it.

I just play on servers where people know me. I could pick holes in the design of the program etc, but there's no point.

The best thing to come out of RG is the blocking of kiddie cheaters with bighead etc.

The worst thing is the belief that a person running RenGuard is not cheating, and that someone not running it has something to hide.

I don't run it, but I have nothing to hide. I have been cheat free online from day one. I have researched cheats on Multiplayer Practice as part of moderating, but thats it.

I could go on, but why bother, you will just disregard this post as it disagrees with what you say.

Good...Hopefully that bug gets squashed in 1.04! Then we can actually USE RG for once!

You can't absolutely rule that, crimson herself has said renguard isn't 100% un-bypassable. Close to 100%, sure, but if it isn't 100% then your statement is flawed.

weather or not I know that RG is not 100% un-bypassable (past, present or future) I take the stance that it is perfect. I believe that poeple like us (being admins and mods) do not need to be going around encouraging the brainless twats that can't form their own thoughts that RG is flawed in any way. All they do then is run around and say RG doesn't work because spoony said it wasn't 100%. When in fact you were asked to back that statement up and you could not. And for the record it is also the claim of Crimson and BHS that every flaw in the past has been fixed (and quick) and is currently 100%. Does that explain why I say that?

Back to the subject BHS rocks

Hey, I just got this great idea! To solve all the bitching about how Renguard killed your goldfish and blew up your monitor, and caused lagg, and any other crazy stuff.[/sarcasm]

Lag is a bitch, plain and simple. If you don't want any lagg follow the below steps, they're all simple to do.

First thing, make sure you don't have 56k. Second make sure your computer meets AT LEAST the minimum requirements, but the recommended requirements or better would definately be a +, here's where I find the minimum, and recommended requirements http://www.cncden.com/renegade_sysreq.shtml

Second, if you have the requirements met and Renegade is still laggy, make sure your lower your video setting, or maybe even your resolution by running the Renegade config exe (WWConfig.exe) in the Renegade directory.

Third, make sure that when you logon to WOL you go to your internet options and set your connection speed to LAN/T1 or whatever it is.

Fourth, Make sure you turn off AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Xfire, or whatever. Because they use bandwidth, memory and CPU power.

Fifth, don't use any of those damned warez programs, they always seem to contain some sort of a spyware, malware, or adware. If you have used such a program, remove it, and don't use it again. You should also do a virus check, spyware check, and an adware check which can all be hogging bandwidth. To make it easy for you to find free programs to use to do this, I have included the following links. . .
Spybot-S&D: www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
Ad-Aware: www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Nod32: www.nod32.com/download/download.htm

Sixth, don't even allow anything you don't want to start up automatically to start up. go to Star > Run then type msconfig. Check selective startup then uncheck systems.ini. Then click startup on the top left of the menu, and deselect the stuff you don't want to start up.

Well, that about does it, I never have any performance decrease of any sort when Running RenGuard compared to not running RenGuard. I keep my computer clean of all spyware, adware, and viruses, I don't let anything not necessary for Windows to run start up. I don't use any warez programs, I have Cable, but when I was on DSl I didn't have any problems either. I even have Renegade at all of its max video settings and I get a constant 60fps even in large servers (32+).

I hope this help some of you with your lagg issues.

Most people at n00bstories diss on anyone and anything.
If it dosn't go their way they remove it.
When someone is new to the game and asks a question n00bstories is there to bash on that person.
When someone from n00bstories screws up and gets made fun of that person that made fun of them is called a n00b and a 10year old or younger aka "Kid"

Why is n00bstories full of hypocrits?
Why do they try to take control of everything so it goes their way?
Why do they keep banning my names for stating the truth?
Why do they keep spreading lies to everyone?
Why does n00bstories have to keep bashing everyone that they don't like?
Why does Crimson keep denying things?

I can keep going on and on and on, but This account will be banned in few seconds by someone soon just like the others have been. For those of you who read this topic keep those questions in mind when you enter the conflict. K? THX.

Why don't you prove that instead of doing exactly what you're claiming they're doing?

What have I done that makes me a hypocrite?

What have I done that would suggest I'm trying to control anything?

What name have I banned at www.n00bstories.com, or in the n00bstories mIRC channel?

What lies have I spread?

Who have a bashed, that I didn't like?

1. My message stated most people dosn't include everyone there as not everyone plays renegade.

2. What have you done to make you a hypocrit? Let me take you back awhile to when RG wasn't out. Bighead had first shown its face. In crimson79 server. A mod named warranto and a mod named snprsc0pe were in game on different teams and snprsc0pe was killing everyone in sight and out of sight. The mod warranto thought nothing of snprsc0pe killing everyone in buildings and just ended up leaving. I join and having already seen the bigheads and had asked to test the mod snprsc0pe went ahead and took action. Snprsc0pe failed and even posted screen shots having bighead on. What happened? I was perm banned by warranto and zlined off the network for harrasing a mod. What happened to the screen shots? They were deleted off the site and n00bstories just keep denying any evidence of cheats.

3. What have you done to try and control everything? By doing what you did then and still do.

4. What name have I banned at irc.n00bstories.com, or in the n00bstories mIRC channel? Wow what a question theres to many to count. As almost every person with power there uses it even if the person didn't say a word. They still get judged by you people.

5. What lies have I spread? "There is no such thing as cheats"
"These we don't spread lies"

6. Who have I bashed, that I didn't like? Your speaking to him now. K? THX.

7. To the other question about n00bstories. Why was it brought up in this thread? I don't know perhaps because they both intertwine.... Same people... same names... same sites... GOM COULD IT BE BHS IS n00bstories!?!?!??!
