SSC_ignore.txt is designed because when you log into a server on your own LAN, your IP doesn't match the IP that RenGuard sees you using. Example, I would show up at 192.168.0.2 on my LAN, and 68.x.x.x to RenGuard. This would result in the RenGuard master servers telling BRenBot that I'm not on RenGuard. SSC_ignore.txt means that BRenBot skips checking you. It means you won't be kicked for not using it. However, if someone !rg's you, you will NOT appear on RenGuard. im not understanding it?

so i made SSC_Ignore.txt and put his name in it and saved it.THen i put the file into my BR folder and typed !rehash and when i told him to join it still said hes not using RG

ghost, read what crimson said. RG skips checking people in SSC_Ignore.txt (ie it wont kick them from full rg servers or announce they may be cheating) BUT it will still say they are not on RG if you do !rg on them, unless they are actually on RG of course.

Crimson, does this mean that if you play on the same computer as your server, while connected to RG, it will still report you as not using RG when the !rg command is used? (just wondering because I sometimes host games on my own comp)

No, he wasnt connected to renguard at the time. Five or six people !rg <name>'d him, so i just assumed thats what it did...

I mean come on I want to tell all these server owners who think "oh this is a RG server so hes not cheating" Cause i meet some people who done some pretty amazing things i want to point out that it is possible to bypass RG i mean come on the RG isnt perfect. all you need is a aimbot or radar hack which rg doesnt scan programs outside RG folder...

besides what will banning acomplish?

Ghost, why doesn't your friend try telling us the problems he's having with RenGuard? We could try helping him so he can get RenGuard working, and you wouldn't have to worry about adding him to any ignore list.

i already fixed it for him...thats why i havent replied tilll now when i was read it. plus i run a pure server and i have a few of those crosshairs (aiming things) whhen i connect to RG it says i cant join a pure server...

Not really, its not the computer thats banned, but your renegade CD key, so unless you use a different copy of renegade on your second laptop then you would NOT be able to play on it.
