well i finally ditched the SLOW laptop and built me a MUCH faster desktop. i think i did damn well considering it is the only computer i've every put together (and it works to-boot). previously installing two sticks of ram was the only thing i've done to a computer as far as hardware goes.
the specs are.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+
ASUS A8N-SLI Delux Mobo
1 GB of DDR400 RAM
ATI X700 PRO 256MB (PCI Express)just one card for now!
120 GB 7,500 RPM HD
500 Watt Antec PSU
CoolerMaster WAVE case.
Sharp 19" LCD
XP PRO
dont think the other stuff is note worthy.
this thing rocks on ren compared to my laptop. i'm getting an average of 55fps on a full 48 person server with all the visuals turned to max. on any server below 32 persons i'm maxing out my LCD at 75fps the entire time. i've still got a hard-on from playing ren on this rig for the first time last night. i'm still getting used to the better visuals of the game (for some reason it has seemed to make it harder to snipe for me) but i dont see it becoming a problem 
so what do you guys think? good/bad.

i see that my 1/2" post in has brought forth some negitive feelins, and for that i apologize. a while back i started a thread
asking for some help with getting my FPS higher. i got a very big turnout with lots of helpfull information, and decided that since i took mosts advice and upgraded that i would let them know.
