I don't dislike Hiphop or Rap music. But I dislike the whole gangsta Pimp scene. I see the whole gangsta scene as one big gimic. A gimic is good, certain artists only using one gimic there whole career can also be good.
But the whole fact that every Rap artist seems to think he has to use the gimic in such a big part of there music to sell records, is really Screwed up.

True, but why care about him doing it. As long as he just does it to people like me who really don't care about it, I see no problem in him doing it. There is no reason now, to start discussing the fact that I made a error, and ACK is so "friendly" to point it out.
Funny that the spelling checker doesn't find grammar errors, in this situation.
Oh well back on topic: Now a days Rap music, overrated or not?

I agree with almost everything j_ball has said in this post. Rap music (and most of modern Rock) is just a bunch of bullshit. Everything is starting to sound the exact same. Look at Classic Rock. They would play what they wanted to, whether people liked it or not. They wouldn't give a fuck if it sold records or not. They played as a way to express themselves. They didn't expect too much profit. They sang for peace, love, and freedom.
Now days, people play music for nothing but money. The Rap scene is just a bunch of wannabe pimps, and the Rock scene is just plain shit. Maybe the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith can kick ass with their new albums. It'll be funny watching old 60-70 year old former drug-addicts topping the charts which are normally controlled by 20 year old "punks" who don't know what true Rock is.
