Did you guys know that the hurricane hit and destroyed 1 of the refineries? Bush just opened up the federal reserves to get more fueloil, but with our retarded president and all we have nowhere to refine it. There isnt a shortage of it on the earth..yet. Conclusion refinery destroyed less refining space retard opens the reserve which gives us more oil to reserve yet we have nowhere to put it. Kerry AKA Hippyman should have been chosen the first time GO DEMOCRATS!! not that we would have been better off he just doesnt look like a monkey.

Nice job blaming the government, instead of blaming the oil/gas companies who are the ones price gouging. The governent has nothing to do with high gas prices. Blame big business for taking advantage of the chaos of the hurricane.

Really? the Government has nothing to do with it? Lets bring up the war in iraq. When was the last time we had a conflict with them hmmm... around 1993 WTF are we doing in there?? What ever happened to Afghanistan? Just poof its gone, when was the last time you heard news of the war over in the "stan" a year maybe? (Where is Osama) Bush went in there for supposed "peacekeeping" and I admit he is doing well at that. Since we went over there gas prices have gone up because we get the majority of our Fossil Fuels from overseas (MiddleEast) The prices are at 3 bucks and rising now because of partially the oil companies but some refineries have been destroyed also from Katrina.

And yes Spoony prices have always been up in the United Kingdom and Canada they need to spend more time on dental work than fuel for their "motorcars"

Actually, this time they have a pretty good reason to raise gas prices. Yes, it sucks to hell, but they have no choice; the hurricane hit a place where we get a lot of our oil.

Oil companies besides OPEC have nothing to do with the prices. Their assets were hit hard by the hurricane, obviously the price will go up. It's simple economic sense, the less gasoline is available, the higher the price goes. If the companies didn't charge that much, they'd lose a lot of money and you wouldn't have any gasoline whatsoever. So be thankful that it isn't completely gone yet, or that it doesn't cost $10 a gallon.

Even then, gasoline doesn't cost that much. It's still about the price of a gallon of milk, and if you decided to buy 20 gallons of milk every two weeks I bet you'd be bitching about the price of that too. Conserve fuel and get your fat ass on a bicycle; or start walking.

Don't put the blame on Bush. Be thankful Kerry wasn't elected. A little off topic here but...If Kerry was elected he would have taken away thousands of acres of motocross areas as well as mountain bike trails across the US and in forests. However, what he doesn't realise is that those trails in the forest actually stop forest fires from spreading. Not only that if you take trails and motocross areas away you are going to slowly kill the sport. In my state, Colorado, we have 3 motocorss tracks. Awhile back there was no one living next to them. Recently they have developed houses by the tracks. the people who now live in those houses bitch, moan and graon about the noise and the dust. Fuck them, motocross was there first, don't like it, move. Kerry would have taken away places to ride motocross in my state as well as many others. Why? Because it's loud, dusty, and the whining bitches of America do not like it. I have been riding for 3 years now and to take that away would really blow. Pretty soon in the future if the government keeps taking away land for sports like motocross, there is not going to be anything to do but sit inside your house playing a PS2 or XBOX or a computer.

Sometimes riding your bike is not a feasable way of Transportation. Since I have classes early in the morning and work late at night, I would be getting 3 hours of sleep if I had to ride my bike every day.

Thank goodness Denver build a light rail system. Im guessing it saves millions of gallons of gas every year. And its actually faster than driving. 55 MPH, no stoplights, no cops. Razz

Or buy a smaller, lesser consuming vehicle/hybrid.
Sure, the base price of such vehicles isn't fully affordable (to be honnest I have no idea how much they cost), but this money will most likely return in your pocket over a year (and this still depends on your way of life).

On the other hand if you have a rather big family (let's say 3 kids), it's alright to buy a vehicle like a Dodge Caravan or Ford Freestar, because your choice is fully justified.

If you have a motor home, I hope for you it's a diesel. Wink
If you own a boat, buying a pickup truck is fine, but don't use it to go to work, jeesh... And you don't need a six wheeler to carry it around, either.
If your job requieres you to have a pickup truck, then alright.

But don't buy a SUV to cruise the city, that's just retarded
(nobody uses them for anything else 80% of the time).

I drive a Ford Expedition. It was passed down to me in the family so i really didnt have a choice in the matter.

And dont think im gonna go sell my SUV to someone else and buy a car. That gives me less gas money, but now someone else is still driving my tank. Not helping anyone.

And no, im not sending my car to the dump. Im not made of money and cant afford to buy a new car because gas went up.
