|
No.
|
I haven't seen an engine as bad as the one in BF2 since Extreme Paint Brawl. On a machine that can tear through HL2 with the settings maxed, I have to scale down detail on BF2 and I still have to put up with subpar performance.
|
So? That basicly means it's average. They optimized the shit out of Source, not every company does the same.
Besides, in a 32 player game of BF2, all settings on low, I get a higher FPS there than I do in a 32 player game of CS:S with all settings on low. I could never dream of playing CS:S with 52 players on my machine, yet it runs smooth in BF2 with that many.

Yeah... if you like running it with every setting on the lowest possible. It looks really ugly that way.
People, don't get either the Geforce FX 5600 nor the 9200 (SE or not, they both suck).

I can run BF2 on full settings and it runs smooth. It stutters for a minute at the beginning slightly, but it smooths out after that. The only real problem with BF2 that I have is that my loading times are about 7 minutes for some reason. Probably just because I've not defragged or cleaned out my system for ages.

Yea EA does suck, seeing a old Ti 4200 is just as fast as alot of card's in that anyway. Also talking about stable game engine's. I've heard many problems on other forums on running bf2 even with a high comp. You will need great cooling and a uber good card. And a good set of drivers or it will just crash from time to time. Renegade isn't much far from that but just pointing out Renegade isn't the only buggy engine. I still think the engine UT uses, and Hl2/d00m 3 are best. You can even run that typ of games on SLOW pc's with slow card's or just uber fucking great gfx like bf2 but ofcourse you need a good comp then. Renegade isn't that bad in a way either seeing that I was able to run Renegade with 8mb onboard memmory and Intel i815 chip for 9 hours long till it would actually reboot. ( fps 5-25 )

Yes, I've had several sporadic crashes that appear to happen for no reason.

I had my sister use my dad's computer when we played it together with one of my friends on LAN. His computer has a Radeon X700 Pro, so that's where that came from. Yes, his computer is all-over faster than mine, makes me pretty jealous... though I don't want an ATi card.

I play with 64 players with decent detail on (defaults with minor changes) and it shows over 30fps on fraps. I get the odd 15 seconds of 2fps and then it goes away. This game whores ram like no other though

Stop buying/playing their games if you hate them so much, you fucking imbecile.
I think it's hilarious when people promote that retarded "WE HATE EA" signature that says, "FUCK THEIR GAMES," yet they play BF2, regardless.
The bottom line is you are EA's little bitch. You piss and moan yet still let them have their way with you.

Cigarettes do absolutely no good. That doesn't stop people from lighting up. They are addicted to the nicotine.
EA sucks horribly. But, EA is one of several major (and even a number of minor) companies that feed the addiction to computers and computer games.

I take part of that back....I play Guild Wars. Awsome game. Very well done. I also play Doom 3 all the time. And to tell the truth, I don't even know where any of my EA games are and I can care less if I ever find them.

You're making me feel bad about embarrassing you now... You have no comebacks. Look, just don't join in the senseless EA hatefest. In the very least, never post that fucking retarded signature-image again.
