So because you happen to have 4 spare plus you need a new graphics card, you thought you would sell them?
People pay enough as it is to host their servers, its retarded that you think selling something that was origionally free to everyone and anyone is ok just because they need them...

First,
Retarded - Occurring or developing later than desired or expected; delayed.
I do not like your language, so please don't be an arsehole.
Second,
If I had more, I would give them away, BUT being that I cannot, and people want them, and I cannot relplace them, this is the only way it seems fair.
Third,
Don't give me attitude, I wasn't the wanker who stole all the FDS serials.
Forth,
Do not post here, unless you want to buy a serial. I am not in the mood for a 2bit flamer. Grow Up.

YOU SUCK
I think you will need to ask EA first if you want to sell
their (free) serial numbers. And I dont think they will permit you.
If you want to have money for a new graphics card look for a job,
and dont sell things you got for free.
When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter then "Yes"

First off,
EA DOES NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT RENEGADE, AS SOON AS THEY BOUGHT WESTWOOD THEY SCRAPPED IT. IF THEY CARED, THEY WOULD REMOVE THE SERIAL SYSTEM!
Second,
I have a job. But when you are my age (just turned 18), and have a fiancee, a car, and bills to pay, not to mention a credit card, it gets quite hard.
SO FUCK OFF.

So, use the credit card, buy the Graphics Card, work some extra hours a week to pay it off for the end of the month. I am sure you can work out another way than to sell things you obtained at no charge.

This whole topic is "delayed". Go sell your stupid FREE serials on eBay or something rather than trying to exploit server owners. Why don't you just set up a paypal account and ask people to donate so you can buy your graphics card? It's really the same thing since you can get FDS serials for free. I'm hoping someone can either delete or close this topic before more desperate gamers decide to do the same thing.

Seconded. It's like this. . .
The serials were free and quite numerous at one time or another. However, exploitation, bots, and greedy users eventually ran the "Serial Well" dry, which shouldn't technically be possible, but was. Now, since the "well" is dry, people like this guy, and that other guy who swung by and rubbed his 1,000 serials in our faces, exist.
Regardless of where all that income might be going, pyroacidk, if you were patient, you could still scrape up enough money to buy a decent video card eventually. However, you're not the patient type. I can tell. Therefore, you figured you could make a quick few bucks by charging -- and overcharging -- for something that, these days, is apparently "rare".
Now, consider this. . .
People who are patient, like myself, can always sit and wait for an oppurtunity to present itself where someone happens to have a cache of serial numbers they'd be willing to distribute around(such as when xxxoxxx had some) and politely request one. For free.
Honestly, it's not even the fact that you're charging for them that disgusts me. No. . .even charging for something this "coveted" these days is understandable. It makes you look like an ass all and all, sort of like all those people selling American flags and coloured US quarters after 9/11, thriving on peoples insecurities and "spontanious patriotism". But it's understandable. What gets me is the fact that you honestly think you're going to get $25.00 for each of those numbers. You'd be lucky. . .very lucky. . .to get that much for all the numbers combined, my friend. People may want their own dedicated servers. . .and some might want to do as you are and play "The Markup Game" with any serials they gain. . .but they're not going to pay $25.00 on top of their current server and bandwidth charges. Not unless they're really freaking desparate. And if that's the case, they're probably just poor losers who got tired of getting their asses kicked by other players on random servers and want to make their own domain where they can simply boot people that kick their asses. But I digress.
Selling these serials is understandable. Selling them for $25.00 each. . .is not.
Edit: Don't bother telling me I'm a hypocrite for what I said here, by the way. I was kidding. Even if I had not given the number to jonwil previously, I wouldn't've given this dude my serial number. Period.(Not unless he offered a clearly ludicrious amount for it. Then I probably would've given it to him for free.)

HOW FUCKING DARE YOU. I only have 5, I DO NOT HAVE 1,000. I'm not forcing people to buy them. If they dont want them, there is plenty of people that do, I have already sold 2, just waiting on the money.
Do not blame me for selling these, blame the people that did exploit the WOL serial server.
If I had 1000, I would be giving them away, but because I dont have any, and I cannot get more, It's kind of hard just to give away, when I could need them.

| 'kay. It's all those peoples faults you're selling something in your possession that's already free to those willing to wait. It's all their fault you're charging a ridiculous amount for something as unimportant as this. It's all their fault you don't feel like being patient and scraping together a video card fund through what meager amount of money you might get from your day job.(Which, by the way? Don't quit it anytime soon. 'kay?)

| Considering you're eagerly awaiting $25.00 for each of your "four serial numbers" so you can get a new video card, I sincerely doubt you "could need them" any time soon. Have you looked at dedicated server prices lately? ;3
Nope. You're just a greedy bugger who likes to prey on the inept and impatient. And hey! If it works, then more power too ya. Truly! It all comes down to philosophy:
"Who is the bigger fool? The fool who leads? Or the fool who blindly follows the first fool?"

In reply,
I do know how much server hosting costs.
Don't forget I do host a 32player CTF server, and I am a partner of non00bs.net (One of the server hosters).
I also have a dedicated linux box. Which I do provide free hosting on sometimes. So I'm not all gready.
Also, some of those people that you think wanna wait, alot of them give up because you cannot get the serials anymore, and everybody that has spares are running out.
Also, how would you know if I am going to use my other serials. I host 1 server at the moment, and have hosted 3 others.
So now please stop the flaming, because its getting annoying.
Btw, I'm a Network Administrator for DE&T (Department of Education), in australia. And I dont plan on giving this up.

I'm not flaming you, and I'm not trying to make you not sell these serials, dude. It's not my fault you're taking everything as such. No, I'm simply giving my opinions and rebuttles to you. As I said, if you can sell the serials, more power to ya. I just think that it's ridiculous that you're charging that much for puny little Dedicated Server serials.

I don't think that's currently possible, since WOL needs to have the serial in its database to be validated.

Your a newtwork admin for our Department of Education and you can't afford a new graphics card? Need I say how sad that his? I know 3 network admins who live in Brisbane and not 1 of them is ever strap for cash. Each gets paid somewhere around $150,000+ a year. IF you were a network admin, you wouldn't need to be selling FDS keys for $25 a pop.

Well, arsehaze, I don't know what they are doing, but they arn't working for Victorian DE&T. My yearly wage is something like 45,000 (First year) w/o tax taken.
Quote: |
Cant someone make a serial key generator for WOL server serials? WOL must verify them somehow, and the chances of two people using the same generated key are low, and one of the people could easily generate a new one...
|
Im not sure if you knew, but the renegade serials have different hashs and are all stored and validated when you login to WOL, its not just a number that can be generated. There are different hash algorithms as well, which makes it very hard, because we might have 50 serials, but only 29 fit one algorithm.
Thats why all the keygens for renegade work, but dont work with WOL.
Changed price on last 2 serials: $20 each.
