Message from RenGuard: You have been banned by Crimson on 21.08.2005 05:53:12 for username: Trying to bypass RenGuard. Goodbye
That means you got banned for trying to exploit RenGuard with the name of username by using one of 2 blacklisted "game2modded.exe" files, that try to exploit a RenGuard bug that has been fixed months ago. This detection method is 100% legit and it has no false positives.
Would a MOD check the logs and see why I was banned the second time? so i could compare this to whats written above, because if i do remember correctly, joebob(something like that) was the name that got me banned? is it possible that rengaurd can match bans to other players time and again? and if this is true could somebody use someones ip to frame someone, or is that not possible?

Yes, RenGuard can match your ban on userA while trying to connect using userB.
Due to the nature of the internet, it is extremely unlikely that userB framed userA using userA's IP address. Basically, unless one of the two following things match, it's not possible to frame someone else.
1) userA is running an IP tunnel on his local computer (whether knowingly or not) and userB (ab)uses it. This is unlikely since RenGuard does not connect to the RenGuard network via proxies (tunnels).
2) userA and userB are both behind the same IP address via NAT something similar. If this occurs, then it's more likely than not that userA and userB know each other.
There are other possibilities, but the chances of those occuring are pretty much astronomical.

But, theres still that chance right?
I wouldnt want him banned for no reason, if he was framed, and can somehow prove it, let him off.
If hes guilty, die/burn in hell, cheaters suck and so do you.
Actually, there was an incident of this a few months back...someone in india, i think, was framed by someone in canada...just a thought...but yea, goes to show you that it IS possible.

Yes, you can. But to hide behind the a proxy running on the same machine as someone else is playing on is unlikely (though possible). Not to mention illegal if it's without their knowledge.

I thought RG banned by serial hash, so presumably being on the same ip as someone else (such as in my home network where 4 computers share the same internet connection, and hence same ip address) would not result in your being banned from RG because of someone else on the same network cheating?
