Warning: This is going to be a ranting post addressing the fact that there has been a lot of fighting going on between members of this forum lately. Don't like it? Too bad. Skip over it. If for some ungodly reason you reply, I want an intelligent -- intelligent -- response that's not just a quote of text and two fucking words.
------------------------------------------------------------
Now. . . I'm starting to get sick of this place with all the clawing into one another you people have been doing lately. When is it going to fucking end? Never, most likely. Why? Because. . .and yes, I realize the supposed "irony" of me, or anyone saying this. . . Because. . .none of you people have the mental capacity to maintain a positive, or even freaking neutral attitude for more than one or two god damned posts! All I see these days whenever I pop into a random topic is something similar to this:
Example Thread of Posts

Forum User A: Blah blah blah.
Forum User B: *quotes User A* Ha ha, you moron.
Forum User A: *quotes User B* *makes an angered response*
Forum User C: *bandwagons against User A*
Forum User D: *either adds to the band-wagonning or says something entirely irrelevant*
Forum User E: *etc.*

As I said. . .when is going to stop? Probably never. 96.2% of the users of this forum. . .and even some of the "higher-ups". . .simply don't have the intelligence to just "live and let live". Or maybe they like causing trouble. I know there's at least a couple users on these forums who make it a constant habit of posting absolute garbage just to post.(I'm surprised no one's tried just posting constant spam to raise their post count, on that note. And I mean, like, 50 spam posts a day or something.) It's absolutely ridiculous. . .the condition of these forums. . . Someone has got to start buckling down over here and keeping sharper vigilance on the members that post. Specifically, the members that just randomly decide to attack other forum users for no apparent reason. I'd say "use your best judgement in those situations". . .but for some of your Moderators? I don't know.
Which leads me to a related topic. I know how I said most users can't just "live and let live," but for Moderators and Admins, that seems to be quite the opposite problem. It seems to me that the management here has a serious leniency problem in that they let all this continue to go on. While that means that these forums are a nice, relaxed community where people can post what they feel. . .it also means that people are going to do just that. Post whatever they feel. In some cases, that's just not cool, and it insights "riots" within the populous. It's when these flame wars break out that Moderators need to step in and do something intelligent. I know a few of you people on the administration staff have the capacity and judgement to keep things in check. But it doesn't seem like any of you do.

Well. . . That's that. No, this isn't one of those "omg im quiting u fux0rs u suk!!1!" posts. This is simply something I had to get off my chest. I'm certain a couple of you have noticed I've become a little more hostile towards people here lately. Better I explode in a post like this than explode at someone.

*sigh* Why do I bother. . . Let the expected barrage of idiocy commence. . .

Edit: I wonder if I should've posted this under "Hot Topics" instead of here? Oh well.

All I have to say is make up your mind (not you, Joseph Collins, I mean it as a general statement).

I have tried to be stricter in the past, but all I received were complaints. I tried to be lenient, but all I received are complaints. Then there was that one time where I "went off the deep end" and stated that I was going to tighten down even more than I had previously, only to go on vacation the next day and decide that it just wasn't worth it.

I agree with you 100% Joe, we need to stop clawing at each other and start clawing at the topics that are tearing our community apart, whether its in game or inlife. Stop this nonsense between people, stop the "haha ure an idiot", it doesnt contribute to the forums are all it does is create virtual fights. The topics people post these days are more then 80% fighting, mainly because 1 person didnt like the post, so he tells the person hes "idioctic, stupid, etc." instead of giving info RELETIVE to the post topic. Im willing to put money on that if people ONLY posted on topics where there arent "fighting", DJm, Gbull, Lijitsu and yes, even myself, would have a significant amount less posts then what we have.

Final thought, everyone play nice, this is a place to make friends, discuss topics, and learn. Not to bash, flame, and make fun of other people. Play nicely everyone, it would make our community a better place. A nice community, is a PRODUCTIVE community.

Thats all.

Just like how others can ignore this thread if they don't want to read or reply to it, you can ignore other threads or posts that are just arguments/flames/etc.

Only a small percentage of the people on this board actually do what you're accusing them of. You're acting like it's unique for there to be a lot of arguing and flaming, when in reality all (large) forums have their share of arguing/flaming, this forum is mild compared to many others.

Flaming has always been and always will be a part of these forums. Don't like it? Tough. You're not going to change it, and many more will protest the change of it. If you don't like the status of the forums, then leave. Nobody's making you read the flaming posts. There is such a thing as the ignore system, you know. This community has never been a friendly one, and with more and more idiots joining daily, there will only be more and more flaming.

Everybody has the ability to express their opinions about subject matters and members of the forums at will. While many go overboard, it is a right that they have been given by Crimson. Also, I'll have you know that there have only been sparratic people like you who post with the "enough of this, we need change" threads. The majority either doesn't care or chooses that it's not worth the hassle and just deal with it.

I think that something like this happened before, but the guy was probably banned and his posts deleted, which is why you don't see that very often.

Anyway, you are right, but I don't think you should take these forums so seriously. I mean these are just forums, nothing else. If this was some kind of community of people who you could actually see in person, then there would be reason to take it very seriously. But it is not, so relax.

I usually don't start flames, but I don't sit by and let people take shots at me without shooting back. It's just the way I am, don't like it? I don't care. Intelligence? That word is used loosely most of the time.

Okay, stop me if you've heard this one...

One Renegade Forums member walks up to another and says,
"Knock knock."
The other replies,
"No, you are the one who is wrong."

And then 20 people cry about it.

The only thing that bugs me is when someone posts a comment such as a harmless opinion and then you have these certain people who come in and say: "SHUT UP...JUST...SHUT UP. And yes I am referring to someone as an example but I had the respect NOT to mention there name. I can find tons of examples on this forum about POINTLESS FLAMING. Flaming that should have never started.

The only person that anyone can change is themselves. Rather than continuing to attack those who start fights, or saying "oh you moderators should be more dilligent"... make a post saying "I, so-and-so, will no longer participate in these flame wars." Then, actually KEEP your promise.

If you honestly think that I have the time to not only make money to pay for the server this is hosted on, have a personal life, and read every single post on this forum and make an unbiased decision on whether or not it belongs, then you're completely crazy. Furthermore, most actions I could take would and could be construed as "you're siding with RenAlert/Reborn/MP Clan/etc" and I would rather avoid that.

At the end, I would say, come to me with a legitimate SOLUTION. If I had a solution, it would be done already. This state of affairs is the best situation we can have at the moment. I don't personally see what the big deal is about fighting. If any of you honestly get upset about it, then you need to take a step back and remember that this is the internet. But I bet that more of you just enjoy getting your pulse racing and posting a witty retort, as practice for real life, where these things might actually matter.

That sentiment is bang on.

the problem I see with this forum is how many of us condone newbs when they come here with really stupid threads and questions that look like they were typed with their nose while the hands were feeding the dog. you can see plain as day that they aren't bright people. if you speak to them nicely they'll never learn and will continue to ask dumb questions and make stupid replies in other threads. If you just gave em the smackdown and said "come back when you've got some brains, idiot" maybe they'll finally start listening to that teacher and get some writing and social skills, and grow up better people. who knows, maybe they'll throw a tantrum and there'll be some entertainment value to be had.

I bet 20 years ago the kids weren't quite as stupid as the ones now, but in any case I don't want to frequent a forum where they run rampant, (which they will if we allow them to).

Yes i agree, being alittle firm is great, but dont you think that calling them an idiot/loser/stupid or worse (****/***), is alittle harsh? Someone has to learn, try teaching a baby by calling them stupid and yelling at em, you wouldnt, so why do it to noobs. Its the samething, the noobs, can be like our babies, and i think its up to us to teach them how things go around here.

Lastly, im also willing to bet 20 years ago, no, the kids back then werent as stupid. Main reason?
Back then the kids didnt have games like renegade/CS/Halo to sit around. No, those kids were out more, and thats how they got so smart, ever heard of street sense? thats how you get it, by being on the street.

Ask anyone 30+, they are going to call us stupid to our face, wether or not its because we are, im willing to bet it has something to do with the fact that most of the time all we do is sit on our ass, watch TV, play videogames or eat.

All in all, we need to teach everyone. Wether they are 35 or 5, everyone should be treated equal and shouldnt be judged by the expiriance they have with a computer.

No, we would some how make up for it. Besides, i doubt DJM and Gbull really mean to start flame wars, if they do. And i sure as hell normally dont. Besides, about 5% of my posts contribute to flame war posts, so it wouldnt take but, like, two days to get that back up.

Sir Phoenixx speaking to Joseph Collins

This is completely true. If you go to ANY large forums, unless theyre all, shall we say, psycho, your gonna have atleast a small amount of flaming. Hell, some of the smaller forums i belong to have flame wars and arguements. My fuggin CLAN's forum has arguements every other day. Mostly because thats all the time anyone really posts, every other friggan day.

Now that i have posted my rather bountiful amount of replys/comments, i shall now wait for the obvious flame war i have just helped fuel.

Cheekay77

most of the time all we do is sit on our ass, watch TV, play videogames or eat.

I do all three at once, thank you very much.

Yes i agree, being alittle firm is great, but dont you think that calling them an idiot/loser/stupid or worse (****/***), is alittle harsh?

No, not really.
And whats with the asterisks?

And then 20 people cry about it. [/quote]
I definately think you hit the nail on the head, with that one.

Cheekay77

Im willing to put money on that if people ONLY posted on topics where there arent "fighting", DJm, Gbull, Lijitsu and yes, even myself, would have a significant amount less posts then what we have.

No, we would some how make up for it. Besides, i doubt DJM and Gbull really mean to start flame wars, if they do. And i sure as hell normally dont. Besides, about 5% of my posts contribute to flame war posts, so it wouldnt take but, like, two days to get that back up.

The asteriks was for swear words which i didnt think shoulda been said lol. And im willing to bet that now, more then ever you flame people, i can think that outta your last 50 posts, at least 20 have been flaming/making fun of someone.
