I am in Japan on an exchange program(for 10 days). I have run into a problem 8000 km`s from home and I was wondering if someone could help me. I am using a digital camera to save precious memories which I can hopefully share with others. I am 3 days into the exchange and I have run out of memory. I have taken 400 pictures in 3 days and used almost ALL my memory(256 mg).
Could someone donate me hosting for my photos just until I get back to Canada? I zipped the pictures up in a folder and have gotten it down to under 150 megs I think. It is hard to tell because I am on a japanese computer with a japanese keyboard...
I have gotten SmartFTP installed on the computer here and I am hoping it will work. Can someone lend me some spacing on their server with FTP access?
When I get back to Canada I will post some pictures for everyone to see. I just got back from visiting an Original, 1500 year old castle! The same wooden beams. I gtg. It is late at night and I have lots to do.
Arigato(thanks)
Luke
PS. Sorry about any bad spelling or grammar. I:m on a japanese keyboard and nothing is in the right place. oh and the space bar is MINI!!! lol

Well I'll have a talk with Jake (jball_430) and see if he'll give you any temporary hosting.

I will try to get it broken down. It is very hard to do on this computer because EVERYTHING is japanese. I may just burn everything onto a cd and hope it works in canada. My only worry is that something will be written onto the cd in a different format then on canadian computers. They are images I dont want to lose.
Is there any difference in the way infomation is burnt on a CD? I know they are zipped up the same and are the same lying in a folder but would a canadian and japanese CD read the same? Im thinking a japanese burner might record the information differently.
Thanks for the support/opinions and sorry about the late re
ply. The group I was with went on a two day trip to the Sea Of Japan. Salt water tastes GROSS!

Reminds me of times when my family hosted trips for Japanese teenagers. Sorry I can't offer you space, but have fun while you're over there!

Well I got back to Canada okay and I had burnt my photos on a CD. All went well and the formats must be the same. I copied the pictures onto several computers at my house and they are all safe and sound in Canada.
Just thought I would fill you in on how it went.
