renguard causing lag [message #165555]

Hi there.

loaded renegade, played online just fine, no lag,etc etc.

loaded renguard, lagged like crazy, so bad could not play.

unloaded renguard, back to normal, plays with no lag.

I want to run renguard, but not if that is what it is like. I have a fast internet connection (4mbps 312upload)

is there a way to fix this problem??

Seriously.

RenGuard uses near-zero processor time while Renegade is running.

It has to be in the settings. The computer that I run renegade on uses an amd 3200+ with separate video (512mb) and sound (256) cards. Comcast cable with average download speed of 4.86 mbps and upload of 312kbps. Even when lagging, framerate is above 60 and ping is less then 100.

The computer is plenty fast enough (my second fastest in my family of 7, slowest running an older amd 2800+ chipset).

What else could it be tho. I uninstalled renguard but still have the added renguard sounds. But renguard is not running anymore. Should I try reinstalling, or is there a setting I have to change in renegade.

All other multiplayer games play just fine, it's just renegade that lags when running renguard.

RenGuard does not lag.

i never said that renguard lags, I said renegade lags when running renguard.

I reinstalled everything, seems to be working fine. Reinstalled both renegade and renguard after loading the nocd hack. Hopefully stays that way.
