Go to hell. Him killing 49 Terrorists probably saved hundreds of Phillipinos and American Soldiers. They deserved what they got.

It ain't a war crime. War crimes don't exist, that's why it is war... Think about it. There's no way of doing war without killing people, if killing people is a crime than all war is a crime. Which probably is true though...

Even so a "war crime" as a word doesn't exist.

And it is an intresting article indd. Unfortunately now we are 'civilised'...

There is a Powerpoint opportunity, however it is in text format before you click the link to download.

This briefly outlines the rules of war according to the Geneva Convention. I'm sure you'll notice that the reason they are there is to prevent harm to the person on the otherwise wrong end of the deal. The mentality being that it doesn't protect the enemy, it protects your people. A sort of battlefield M.A.D. prevention policy.

The good General was Not commiting any war crimes. The Geneva Convention was held in 1949. He died in 1948 sooo.... All is fair in love and War. He was completely and rightfully just in his actions.

Wow thats pretty interesting and quite smart. I heard a while ago that in Israel they are going to put pig fat or something to do with pigs on the buses. This is to stop suicide bombers. Whether they did that or not im not sure.

The next time a terrorist takes a prisoner, they should burn a cross in front of them before their execution.

Just as I thought, this "fact" is false. As I was reading this thread, I was thinking at least one of you would've questioned the historical "fact" itself. Instead, you just argued about the definition and/or existence of war crimes.

I never intened to say that HE was under the Geneva Convention, or to defend/refute the article. Just that "war crimes", despite the oxymoronic nature of the phrase, do exist.

Part of the reason for the bloody Sepoy Rebellion in India was because they believed their weaponry was greased with animal fat.

Just something to think about.

Geneva convention is just bullsh*t, tbh. It are rules that count until someone breaks them. Then there's no way of enforcing those rules, and surely not without breaking them yourselves...

Shooting the poor bastard that surrended isn't half as bad as shooting thousands of innocent citizens, but both happen. Hence not a war crime, just a part of war.

Recently there have been terrorist attacks in London, where I work. There was a bomb detonated 100 feet away from me, and i had a day of chaos. My entire family work in London with me, and due to the chaos, mobile phone networks were jammed so no one could call eachother. Police where everywhere and there was mass panick. The streets where filled with people running in all directions but nowhere to go as London was all sectioned off. There was nearly a riot. I was slap bang in the middle of this and worried that my family might be amongst the victims of the terror attacks. My dad actually gets the same bus as the one that was bombed, and he got the bus around that time, so i was really worried about him. As it turned out he was on the bus 30 minutes earlier to this and all is now well, there are still terrorist activties happeneing in London, and only a few days ago someone got shot 5 times for being a suspect bomber, also there was another attempt of bombings on public transport.

However, inspite of all this, I believe the suggested plan is not the answer.

Kinda surprising that it worked. I thought if anything it would anger terrorists and cause them to do even more bad.

Imagine what some advanced alien race would think of humans if they studied these terrorist assholes. Their main goal in life is to die in the act of killing as many "infidels" as possible, so they can go to heaven and get a bunch of virgins to fornicate with for eternity. Thanks to fuckers like this, they are runing the bell curve for the entire human race...I wouldn't be surprised if an advanced alien race would destroy us all just like squashing a cockroach...or maybe they would do us a favor and vaporize all of the terrorist scum from the face of the earth, and the rest of us can get back to leading happy productive lives.

Just because they happen doesn't make them less of a crime. Using this logic, robbery should be legal, simply because hurting someone in the process of a theft, is just part of the theft.
