Is rengaurd legal?
Because ive heard rengaurd bans through serial keys which serial keys belong to the owner who bought it and if rengaurd were to ban through that doesnt it have to steal the serial key!

A serial key for a game is simply an ID number that is assigned to that specific copy of that game.

| Stop yelling, si'down, and shaddap.
Now. . . You asked if RenGuard yanks your Serial Number out from your copy of Renegade. The Answer? No, actually. See, when you punch in a certain Serial Key, it generates a string of numbers that match up with that Serial Key. This string of numbers, otherwise known as an "Encrypted Key", ii what is sent to servers and RenGuard, not your bare-naked Serial Key. Understand now?

But if renguard bans you using the encryption, doesn't that mean the same thing? The odifference is they don't know your key, but they still ban you by it.

RenGuard sends a hash of your serial to the servers, and a md5 hash cannot be used to get back the orginal serial. Nothing is being stolen.

| Thank you. That's what I was trying to explain, and failed to do.

I don't know if renguard steals your serials. Maybe it does. But then again, what do I know?
But I can definitally say that RenGuard does not transmit your serial code.
