What do they look like?
If life is a waste of time,
And time is a waste of life,
Than let's all get wasted together
And have the time of our lives !!!

Insufficient bandwidth testing is the #1 cause of lag in Renegade. Nearly every time someone complains about my server lagging, I check their info and they're simply not getting enough bandwidth from the server for low-lag play. Oftentimes this is caused by skipping the bandwidth test, but I'm quite sure there are other reasons behind it as well. Detection and fixing are simple. If you're in a game with more than 10-12 people, you should be getting over 100kbps from the server. Yes, sometimes you'll get less, but if you're in a game and it's lagged, and your kbps is below 100, just press "f8" and type "sbbo 150000". You can make that number higher if you have more than a 2mbit connection. Personally I've set mine as high as "500000" which is more than the server even WANTS to send me, but it has sent me well over 200kbps in a 30+ player game. I would say that if you set this, and your ping goes up, then you set it too high and you'll want to keep lowering it until you can get as close as possible to an ideal.
Hope this helps.
I'm the bawss.
