ages ago i put G-max on a CD along with renegade modding tools. i installed gmax and re-registered. it works, but renx doesnt. it hasnt got the renX logo at the side of it in the start menu, and whn i click nothing happends, its been like this for a while, but i wanna make a map!!! it might be summat to do with getting it off a CD. anyway i could get it to work without re-downloading it?
ps: it says \GMAX\UI is not writable when gmax has finished loading when i go on it, whats wrong? i think its linked to renx not working. PLZ PLZ HELP! i would really apprecheate it.

Renx is jsut an module so be surre thta your linkk looks like this:
C:\Programme\gmax\gmax.exe -a C:\Programme\gmax\gamepacks\WestWood\RenX\splash.bmp -i gamepacks\WestWood\RenX\gmax.ini -p gamepacks\WestWood\RenX\plugin.ini
adjust your pathes to gmax and the insalled tools

i tryed downloading the latest renX and any other ren X and it ses: estimated time left: not known (opend so far: 22.7kb)

Which site are you trying to get it from? Are you getting it from http://www.discreet.com?

Gmax only works, if you hav installed it localy on your drive, if I get the point righ, that you try start it from a CD-drive
|
He said in his second sentence that he tried installing it and re-registering it, but it doesn't work. :rolleyes:

:rolleyes: And that indicates to me, that he has copied it from a CD-rom and ahs not removed the [readonly] attriebute on folders and files.

Yes, I see you contradicted yourself...
First you said he was running Gmax off of the CD, now you're saying he copied it off of the CD and forgot to change it's properties.
