I tried this BF2 demo and it works fine on lowest settings, but if i turn the settings higher my FPS rate drops very fast probably because i don't have the latest update for my drivers.

So i tried installing the newest drivers(update for existing ones) that come with the demo, but before installing i get a warning that the driver update didn't went trough the "Windows logo test", a test that checks if the hardware or software works on windows (i have windows XP, sp2).

I am no expert here but since many of you probably got the game i thought to just ask here. Is it safe to update my drivers like this?

Huh

Well, make a recovery point first if your not sure. Then you can always try it. If it works, fine, if it fails and screwes up your computer, you can always do the recovery tool.

get the latest drivers from the official website.

I heard some ppl complain that the installer with BF2 was crappy for ppl but others didn't have issues at all with it...

I *heard* that it was safe to install them from the demo so i did. I don't have any problems with them, but they only help with the low FPS a bit.

Bad software if you ask me since my pc can run guildwars on max settings without problems.

Edit: with "bad software" i mean BF2 not the driver update.

Shouldn't be a problem. All the signature does is say Microsoft technicians done tests and verified that they were OK. All ATI drivers after catalyst 4.3 are unsigned but they work fine. what's the problem?

It says they're "unsigned," which is fine since 90% of drivers out there are unsigned. Just be sure they're from a reliable source. I'd say the BF2 disc is reliable enough...

Always click continue, all nVIDIA drivers do that for me and they have never caused any harm... hell, I'm using beta drivers and even those work perfectly fine.

Drivers don't make your video card run a whole lot fucking faster. Don't ever expect an actual noticable difference when updating your drivers, except for bugs and errors. The maximum increase you could get would be something like 30% after using the basic windows drivers.
