Who's to say he's a bad person? Try the 4 million Kurds he gassed in the span of one day. Try the families of those tortured and killed in his special "interrogation" rooms.
Bush would fix the votes? Saddam would KILL anyone who voted for the opposing party, after sending them to the interrogation room. (JBall, care to provide the link of what they did in those rooms?)
Go ahead and praise Saddam. You will certainly be the only person in these forums who does.

Four different sources, and the first two you KNOW are creditable, so shove it, kinghigh.
Oh, and just one of the quotes:
USA Today | "I was beaten, refrigerated naked and put underground for one year because I was a Shiite and Saddam is a Sunni," said Ali Kaddam Kardom, 37

Oh yes, Saddam is such a great man.

LOL. Yes, Saddam is such a great guy. So much so that he assists terrorists, kills all that oppose him, and then burries them rather uncerimoniously in mass graves.
Wow, if you think doing that makes someone a great person, I'd hate to see what you actually consider evil. Perhaps helping out a fellow neighbour who's down on his luck?

Wait, let me get your logic.
Saddamn gases the Kurds.
Kurds are pissed at Saddam.
We get rid of Saddam.
Kurds are pissed at us because we got rid of Saddam?
Wrong. The ones fighting our troops are called insugents.
in·sur·gent (n-sûrjnt)
adj.
1. Rising in revolt against established authority, especially a government.
2. Rebelling against the leadership of a political party.
They oppose the new Iraqi government, which is actually going to try Saddam in court for crimes against humanity. Now, why would the ones who we being killed by Saddam suddenly want to be ruled by him again?
As for your explanation about the oil prices: Grow the fuck up. There isn't a big conspiracy to keep the oil prices high, then suddenly lower them from the gas we got in Iraq. Plus, it has been three years since we toppled Saddam. If we went in for oil, why haven't there been any news stories about oil investors going to Iraq? Surely they are big targets for the insurgents.
If you are going to make an argument, back it up with actual evidence. Because all you are posting here is a shit-faced opinion that nobody believes.

Just to add on to what U927 has stated, the insurgents who are attacking the Americans were the ones who WANT Saddam to be in power. I highly doubt Saddam would be killing those who would support him.
Saddam, to restate, killed everyone who opposed him, and those whom he simply wanted to see dead. When he was removed from power, certain people did not like that and proceeded to attack the military forces who removed him from power, including remenants of the Iraqi military who are still loyal to Saddam. Ie, people who Saddam was not killing.
Edit: Now that I think about it, why is it not surprizing that someone who thinks Saddam is a good guy, also likes to look at someone's rear end?

Well let Iraq people take care of their own destiny and then it will work.
USA got democracy because of the acts of americans. France got democracy because of the acts of french people...
Iraq will be what the iraqis want. Not what the USA want.
To have a strong democracy on a country, there is only one solution : it must be the result of the acts of the people of this country. And you all know it's true. (and don't bring me the argument about allies fighting nazis, it was different as it was a world war.)

I hate Saddam as much as you, but the most people he has ever killed in a single gas attack was 10k, not 4 million.

This IS what the Iraqis want. They showed up in masses when the first elections were held, even through terrorists were threatening their lives if they dared to vote. We did not build Iraq's government in our image, just as the Afghanis did. They were assisted by us to create a government system that would work for them. You're not hearing that they have a Constitution the same as ours, the checks and balances and all. They are building their own government based on Democracy.
I'm the bawss.
