Start -> Run -> RegEdit
Delete the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BlackHand Studios\RenGuard
Then try reinstalling RenGuard.

It's not a file.
In any case, try this:
Start -> Control Panels -> Add or Remove Programs
Look for RenGuard. If you find it, try uninstalling it from there.
Let me know your results.

Sounds to me like it is indeed installed. Try running the program at:
C:\Westwood\Renegade\game.exe
If RenGuard pops up, then you have it installed. If Renegade pops up, then alt-tab out and look at the bottom-right of your screen. If there's any double-arrows there, click on it to expand the area. Then look for a big "R" in Renegade's font. If you see one, then RenGuard is installed. Otherwise...
In any case, if RenGuard is installed, then it is likely that either your program launcher (for example, GameSpy Arcade or the All Seeing Eye) is being told to open the wrong program... or you're logging in under a different name on WOL than RenGuard thinks you're going to log in under.
Go try the steps in the upper two paragraphs and let me know of the results.

don't delete any game.exe until you check the sizes!! the smaller one should be deleted and the bigger one kept as game.exe. it could be either one depending on how your renguard installation messed up. I don't know.
