The RenGen team is putting together our Renegade servers again since we just got a server computer set up, and we are needing to know if running a server is best with alot of ram or if it needs just a little ram. I dont know what recources fds takes up aand dont know if it needs alot of ram or not. Thanks for the help in advance.

you're kidding me d00d. The more RAM you have the better off you will be. I don't think renegade uses up a lot of resources on your server unless it has to host high player counts, which means more data being sent and received. You should probably tell us how much RAM you have just now, your server PC specs and how many players you plan to allow in. Remember, RAM won't do your server much good unless you also have a fast processor...it's also a very good idea to be using windows XP on your server. I don't think your video card will be of much significance though...

Mindtzar | I really dont understand how you can even consider setting up a company out of RenGen when ... you do not understand how a server works.
| Indeed. Seriously. Go learn how to work with a server. It's really not hard if you know even half of what you're doing and are willing to let some guesswork in on the stuff. But feel free to spend good money on your endeavors... Live and learn, eh?
