Hey guys,

I have a desktop in Hong Kong (I'm in Australia now), and I think I might have forgotten the password to it. You know, the password you enter when windows starts.

How can I reset/retrieve that password?

It's XP home btw, or whatever the opposite of Pro is. Thanks.

You can use a Linux cd to change the password. Ill try to find the details for you.

You can retrieve it by not being an idiot. Unfortunately you are one, so it'll be difficult to get your password.

In certain computers, there is a cable in the MoBo that is called the "password jumper" if you remove this cable, all passwords are disabled. Check your MoBo owners manual for more info.

This should be applied to 100 % of your posts. And maybe you would have a post count (full of crap like that) less big.

Okay, since you retards already took this thread off topic, let me explain something to you.

The RIGHT way to do this:

Aircraftkiller posts:
You can retrieve it by not being an idiot. Unfortunately you are one, so it'll be difficult to get your password.

bandie63 posts:
In certain computers, there is a cable in the MoBo that is called the "password jumper" if you remove this cable, all passwords are disabled. Check your MoBo owners manual for more info.

Notice how bandie skips over Aircraftkiller's post and continues on with a post that is ON topic.

The WRONG way to do this:

Aircraftkiller posts:
You can retrieve it by not being an idiot. Unfortunately you are one, so it'll be difficult to get your password

Oblivion165 posts:

The means of thread are over the topic name. So let it go at its best.

You could go into Safe Mode and go into the Administrator account (usually this isn't passworded), go into the users, click the name, and there should be an option to change the password, or at least delete it.

What cmatt42 said. If you did set a password on the Administrator account, you can retrieve your old one from the SAM file (google).

Cain and Abel is a great program for password cracking, but I think if you boot in safe mode you can get on the administrator account and change your password.

Thats more of a deadfive movie than an ack movie.

Bleh, deadfive is better now. I watched that movie. It nearly enlightened me. Close one!

No. Seriously. No.

I think the Safe Mode solution seems the most plausible to me. I'll give it a shot once I have access to that computer again in July.

Oh and thanks for bringing the thread off topic, retards.

It's no different from how you spam your way around here in pathetic attempts at insulting people. Next time don't be an idiot (I know it's hard for you and all but you can at least try) and don't lose your password.
