The point he is making is that you are now more or less forced to install a 3rd party program to play on a server released by community members. I don't see how this is fair.. for instance, as he has said already, if you choose not to install RenGuard, or do not know about it, and you are generally a good player at (example) Sniping, people become pissy, !rgblahblah blah you then !forcerg blahblah you, if your not running this program then boom, your gone.
The fact is that most servers use RenGuard now so theres nothing you can do about it. I havern't agreed with RenGuard from the start and before it was released but thats just using my own knowledge and knowing what people can put into these types of programs without you knowing (for example, you let it access the internet as you think it's meerly contacting a server to say you logged on, but as you have gained it the right to access the internet, it could, for all you know, be a keylogger).
The problem now is what to do about it. It's quite simple really.. either play without RenGuard or move onto another game. Lets face it, another few months and this game will be dead except the odd 10 players playing at a time.
Thats my opinion.. if you don't like it then deal with it.

Rengaurd doesnt really stop cheating (I tested it) i could get big head and repair gun flame working. All renguard does is cover up the cheaters and give them an exuse to say they are not cheating.
Oh and just so you know i dont use them

You're right. Opinions aren't wrong. what i really meant by it was that if you want to prove that his is right to believe he had better put more facts on the table.
all you whiners who complain to RG can you quit the game now? Because without RG i severely doubt there would be any population left to play. This is what it boils down to, OK? Renguard is a program to prevent cheaters from joining. It drastically reduced the number of cheaters to servers. At the price of this, you have to download a program that uses less memory than MSN and the likes that you most likely keep on all the time. If you aren't a cheater then the least you could do is download renguard so people who are inexperienced at this game, don't call you a cheater. Face it. Back when you first started you probably could barely do anything right. I'm pretty sure there had been times when YOU thought someone cheated when they didn't. So why not excuse people who are in the same position? Why not just let it be, download renguard, so that there is some intention to show that you do not cheat.
What I'm trying to get to is. Why on Earth would you go here to complain about Renguard if people are forcerging you? Indirectly you can blame Renguard for being made, and then making half-renguard servers available, and giving the ability to make it so people can forcerg people.
OR, directly, you can blame the people who are forcerging you wrongfully.
Now i can see why people might be mad if something was incompatible with renguard on your computer. That it took you awhile to fix it.
I do not see a drop of 3 FPS really much of an argument because I'm going to gamble that probably over 90% of the people who play don't close their programs before playing so that they get the best out of their performance.
and Xtrm.. yeah I guess it could be for all you know, but for it to be legal, it would have to be stated in the install. Else that it would be illegal would it not? At least that's what i would think

ACK: people shouldn't be forced to use a third party program to play on a server. Agreed. But people shouldn't be forced to play in a server with a cheater eather.
U make it sound as if RG is one big mean machine but u forget that if there were no cheaters, RG wouldn't even exist. How can u blame me as server responisble for putting RG on my server? I can't be there 24/7 to moderate.
This dude who states his opinion has no point at all... If he doesn't like RG, then it's no problem at all! Just go play on a non-renguard protected server. Noone will forceRG him then.
See the problem with all you people who don't like RG is that u fail to see that people like me and my clan are paying 100ths of €'s to have a server on Renegade. You know what this means? It means that we put a lot of effort AND money in it so you can just come play and have fun on it. All that for nothing. Only thing I ask and other server owners oiften ask too is that you get this little program called RG to play on it. No wait, not even that: you don't even need to get it cause it's half RG! But if u don't get it, people who don't trust u can force u to get it. Though luck but at least u can come back. If people votekick u, u stay banned for 24 hours. Ain't forceRG a better option then?
I personally prefer full RG servers over half RG servers but the half RG is just to give people like you a chance to come play. If u get forced, then though luck: get the program.
Only thing I ask is to get an update on RG asap. I have the feeling it is needed. That's all.

Theres a difference.. Starcraft is good.
I respect everyone who likes Renegade.. everyone has their own likes.. alls I'm doing is meerly stating my opinion and making you aware of things you may not know about, especially when it comes to things you wouldn't even know is happening whilst you run programs and give them full access to access the internet.
