Hey everyone i did a search and couldn't really find an existing topic with my exact problem so here i am..
I have had renegade since the demo so i know this hasent happed before to me. This all started around this month, i join games fine but sometimes in mid game it completely freezes for around 30secs then it returns to normal but then i get a connection to server interupted-gameplay pending, and i drop. I got a cable connection btw. It doesnt seem to go offline as i can rejoin immediantly, its just annoying.

Is the rest of your connection running quite slow? Because you might have something taking up your bandwidth

I don't think so, everything else with the internet seems to run fine. Another thing I've noticed is that it takes renguard a few tries to connect to the server. But would the connection cause the game to completely freeze or would it be an error casuing all this? Its all happening more frequently now (every map). I'm thinking of a reinstall, you guys think that may fix it? I took a bandwidth speed test for my cable connection and I got a communications of 1.1 megabits per second, a 1mb down load of 7.7 sec, and the rating of "good". If it matters my OS is windows ME, and when I play I usually close all background tasks.

Good point, set it to auto. Takes a little longer to connect but it's set itself to your connection speed
No flashy signature..

Well I changed my connection to cable modem, it was already on auto, then I played without renguard and there SEEMED to be no more problem. I don't know what one could have fixed it, but I'll try with rengaurd again.

Check if your cable modem is heating up. For me, it gets really really hot. Summers in LA are scorching and my DSL modem heats up real fast, so I just put it in my freezer for half an hour.

It's worse down in Hemet. Over here, it gets 120 outside during the summer. During those times, I run the modem in the freezer, no use running it out of it because it overheats in 5 minutes.
