Ok well im sure the most of you probley know about the nick name hack ??? when you slide between a lan and multi player connection and can log in under a players name that is in the game and take over his name in the game even his mod powers if hes a mod .. so dose anybody have a fix for this yet ????? and no Renguard dosent stop this ....

Renguard is not design and will never stop this, and soon if not already all the renegade bots will have protection build in against this.

So whats your saying there will be an updated bren bot to help prevent this ??? Well i hope it works , because ill tell you it really hurts the game when sombody dose this .. ok thanks for the reply

No, thats not a real bug
And there does not have to be an admin on the server, to use
hes nick and become a moderator.
Brenbot has already a protection against it.
Just read the brenbot readme - Wink

There's an easy way to stop it, the losers like Cyberpunk who do it just need a big hug from his parents, wherever they've got to :rolleyes:

Just read the brenbot readme - Wink

that's for protected nicknames, not anyone's nickname. Plus any serverside bot can only do things to a player once they're in the game, so whoever it is can still log in under that name and knock the other person out of the game even if they get kicked right after. (unless the bot can kick them at the gameplay pending screen, in which case their player might not have had time to "get into the game")

Ok this is just getting out of hand with this exploit/hack/bug, or what ever you want to call it.. as far as im concernd i call it a pain in my f@*% Azz!
Sorry if that offended anybody but this thing has me pretty mad Mad

We can thank a guy by the name of Whiskey,or what ever name hes useing now all i know is he belongs in some clan H20. its just a shame he has to resort to things that low,since he was a good player(Cough) that is if he wasnt useing some sort of cheats .. but since i couldnt prove it i shouldnt say it Wink

My solution isn't really portable yet... but mac's solution is testing well. If he can verify that it works on both types of exploiters then we should be able to release it.
