Just found 1 in my folder I did a while back, would this work better if I did some more work to it? (Blackspace on banner was going to be reserved for Flash)

i like the first one better..

its not too busy for me..
its very much a gamer style site..
if thats what your gonna use this site for..

only thing i dont like or need to improve on is in the content area..
the design you have at the top just doesnt fit.. looks outa place..
like you just slapped it on there.. needs to be more intergrated into the total design.. or just get rid of it period..

and i like dark black BG sites.. im more of a night users.. i hate bright sites

k thx for your inputs. I'll try to get to work on the second and fix up the content boxes and maybe add some accent to it and post it later on either in this topic (dont wanna pull a deadfive) or in Apocmedia when its back up.

maybe if I put a pattern over the wires. I would have to make a brand new pattern(not a problem, it would take 5 seconds)

*In reference to your first template*
I'm likin it, you might want to spice up the modules a bit though (I think that's what they're called), they seem a tad bit dreary. Also, experiment with background color and module color, cuz just black might not look to good from a user point of view, depending on how the layout is sized up. Other than that, just work on some of the colors, the wires (as said earlier), maybe add some kind of opaque texture to it. Pretty good overall

And just because I actually made a post, I must note that the 'arctic' thing in glyde's siggy looks like people having sex. haha.

No, it doesn't. Black and Dark Gray sites are horrible. They're too dark, and do absolutely nothing for me. You need color. Now, I'm not saying make it all of the colors of the rainbow and then some, but make it brighter and easier to see. The object of the layout is to accent the content, and it can't accent if you can't see it.

I used some white color overlays and set opacity to 30%, Better, or worse? I dunno about it myself making it brighter like this might not be the way to go.

I find that one quite difficult to read, try making the text a bit brighter. I am liking it but I am not really fond of the navbar. Just thought I would give you my input.

That's a lot better, but the text does need to be more visible. Also, you need to not make the blank areas so boring, so... don't make them blank. Surprised
