I don't see anything wrong with the policy, doesn't look like fraud to me. You have an entire week to keep the game/video (after the due date) before you get a (small) fee, if you keep it for more then a month then you're charged for the retail value of the game/video. That's more then reasonable. Instead of trying to sue Blockbuster, they should be looking at the people who are trying to get away with keeping their games/videos.

In my opinion, if you keep it more then a month, and don't pay the retail price within a short amount of time, they should be able to charge you with theft.

Well, it depends - did Blockbuster tell it's customers about having to pay the full retail price within a month, or not?

I can't speak for where the lawsiut is taken place, but it's labled everywhere up here. It's in the commercials, they mention it when you actually rent the movie, and it's plastered everywhere in the store.

It's not decieving at all. It's a great program. So much more flexible. When you return something, you have to return it before 12 noon on a certain day.

When I usually rent things, I rent on a saturday or sunday. That means that on either a saturday or sunday of the following week I would have had to return the dvd or game or whatever before 12 noon. I wake up at like 11:30 on weekends, so there's no way in hell i can make that. The extra week is much better.

Also when the program first game out, the cashier briefly explained exactly how it worked without me even asking him. They gave me a flyer too that outlines the program. Not decieving. Truly GREAT program.

Ok... I'm a little slow so you will have to bare with me... You take dvd. You don't give it back. They fine you for stealing their product so they can restock.

Tell me again how this is news. Or how it can be taken seriously.

Like i said. I'm a little slow.

When you rent ANYTHING, they give you a FAQ and terms of the "No more Late Fees" policy.

Uh, no... You rent the movie for a week or whatever, you have a week after the due date to bring it back before you have to pay a small fee. If you keep it for a month after the due date then you have to pay the retail price for that movie/game

Not quite. If you keep it longer than a week, the retail amount less the initial rental fee gets charged to your account. If you bring it back within the month, that fee is dropped.

Edit: this is just regardling how the full price being charged to your account works, not the "restocking fee" that is due after the week.

Ok I get it. but I still don't see what all the fuss is about. 1 week is pretty good, small fee or other wise. Why would any one even bother trying to pull a law suit, it seems perfectly legal to me?

I will have to look around and see if I can find some interesting blockbuster pics. I feel a giff coming on.

nice

i once rented a game from them (before the new policy) kept it for a month returned it, then never went back again...so the new plan makes them better at charging late fees....once again i'm losing it....
