I was bored, so just for the hell of it I figured I give the games single player a go. Anyway all is well until I get to the third mission, inside the HoN, after I ioned it, I can't get the elevator which goes up to respond, the door just won't open. I've checked gamefaqs and they confirmed I was trying to get in the right elevator, but said nothing about this glitch or whatever.
I know this is a newby question, and it's pretty sad that I've owned the game since it was released and am only now doing the single player, but I would appreciate any help. I've killed every living organism in this building and gotten every pickup, I can't imagine why this fucking elevator won't work.

Yeah, it was a glitch. I figured it out when I restarted the mission and when I got back to that point it operated like a normal elevator. I don't know what the problem was. And yeah I waited for like a freakin' age before, hit "E", etc. It was just broken.
