My ADSL is slower than 56K [message #145336]

I'm having a problem with my ADSL connection. For the last two days, it has been extremly slow. I just checked the router and found that the connection speed has changed to 32/256 (the download speed is worst than 56K). I should have 512/256. My upload seems to be perfectly fine.

I'm thinking that it's ever the router or my ISP has locked down my connection. I'll try the USB modem and see what happens.

Try calling your isp? Perhaps it's a bandwidth limit or something.

It seems to be ok now.

About a day ago my Mum got a new house phone and took out the splitter and never put it back in. :rolleyes: I just noticed it wasn't there when I tried to plug the modem into it.

Now this thread is useless. :oops:

If you remove all phones/fax machines (especially old ones) that are sharing the same phone line as your DSL connection, you will notice an increase in performance.
