For those of you who recently recieved this email, it is a hoax.

When you click the link, it will re-direct you to http://217.96.239.183/.secure/

You can type in any email address and password, and it will forward you onto the next step to which asks you for your personal information.

Just thought I'd warn some of ya!

Yeah, I received an email similar to that from Comcast. Only main difference was that the fact that the email I received was a black background, and was obviously not from Comcast, while this person actually did a good job in making his (or her) email look the same as one PayPal would normally send.

whoa.

You can spot things like this easily because companies likes banks, paypal etc WILL NOT email you and request to re-enter your details.

Remember this Cool

The last sentance gave it away: "We apologize for your inconvenience."

That sounds very wrong, almost all companies will put "We apologize for any inconvenience," if anything at all.

Yeah, another way to test it to make sure it's fake is to enter false login information. I used "sexual@harassment.com" with the password "boobified", and, like the hoax that it is, it accepted the password and I was "logged in".

whoa.

No, I tested it on PayPal. It's not an actual account, or at least, I typed in the wrong password. I don't see how sexual@harassment.com is a legitimate email, and boobified as a password.

I received that email too, and ever since then I've been getting spam in my Gmail account randomly... Sad

I never submit my email to ANYTHING except forums that aren't ran by companies.

I've had Gmail for a half a year now, absolutely no spam until this email came along. Sorry, I don't see your theory correct until you actually show some proof.

Well you could be absolutely right, but then again, its not like they have a set date to start selling.

Best way to test it, (Like those guys back in the day) is to email the company, and ask for the price of their list. (Pose as a company)

They had all of the return emails on the website. Ill try to find the link.

Someone should make a flooder script that posts millions of false logins. I can almost guarantee you that 100's of people have fallen for this.

The script probably just saves all the results in a db so then the guy who put it up wouldn't be able to find usable password/usernames
