Renguard is coming up with the error " failed to receive list of availabe servers, please check your internet connection" what port does renguard use, so ic an forward it on my router, or is that not the problem ?

Allow your firewall software to let RenGuard though.

RenGuard uses port 80 outgoing, and port 6301 outgoing.

it is not compatible with Norton Firewall Software.

Makes sense, I didnt post this for me it was for someone else, but the guy who has the problem uses norton, at least he knows what the problem is now.

he un-installed norton and used another antivirus, he still gets the same error message, any ideas ?

Also everytime he loads up renguard he gets the message

"blackhand studios is currently developing core game patches to fix bugs left behind in renegade, release quality fan-made maps, and add enhancements to the game. Would you like renguard to auto apply these patches as they become availiable?


After that he gets the failed to get server list message.

Something is still blocking RenGuard from accessing the Internet.

He should try to disable the firewall, and see if it works then

I have some problems installing SSAOW for My Ren Guard. But Core Patch 1 is installed.

Thats not true, I've been using Norton Internet Security (w/Firewall & Anti-virus) since the day of RG's release and I have had no problems what so ever.

Ok, hes uninstalled norton and swapped to another antivirus, hes disabled the winxp firewall, anything else he can try ?

I use Norton, and not until recently have I had problems.
