Have recently reinstalled and installed Renegade. I then updated to the most recent version, installed Renguard, and completed the core patch download.
Trouble starts when i click on advanced game listings...
It goes to "requesting server" for abour 10-15 sec (which it has usually skiped over)
Then goes to "connecting" for about 10-20 secs (which it also generally skips)
I connect and the list is "requesting" indefinitly and gives me a list of mostly empty servers. I can intterupt "requesting" by trying to join a server.
Upon clicking on a server i either will get the joining message which leads to unable to join or the "start" screen which wont show players names and is faded out. The refresh button becomes faded out after this and inaccesable.
*sob* please help me

Hmm, dunno. Did you patch BEFORE installing renguard? I know installing renguard then patching can bugger things up. How about Firewalls? If you have one running are you blocking any ports renegade uses (can't remember which they are)?

By patching do you mean the core patch?
Heres my sequence of events
1. install renegade
2. load up renegade which leads to patch or update whichever you call it
3. download and install rengaurd
4.then I ran rengaurd which initated the core patch update which i did....
firewall settings seem to be good. its worked at these settings before and i lowered them further to no avail...lol

my knowledge of ports and such is pretty limited. I have checked my options under multiplay and my port is set to 0. I have no idea if this is normal or not...

wol has been having problems for the past 5 hours, servers not showing up, time outs... this is happing to everyone.

I hope it's not a WHOLE weekend without WOL.
could install gamespy i suppose...but, not playing on BC servers? I dunno, seems unethical...heh heh
