Well at this time I would like to say a big FUCK YOU to developers who package their games like ass.

I just bought a new game today and when I went to take out the second disk, the fucker CRACKED right down the side because it was so god damn STUCK TO THE DAMN CASE.

See that little thing in the middle that holds the CDs down? Yeah that's what I'm talking about. Some of them are so stupid, you'd think THEY WANT YOU TO BREAK IT SO THAT YOU'LL HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER COPY OF THE GAME.

Well, fuck that. Mad Mad

It is in fact a pain in the ass to remove CDs from their case for the first time... I've always feared breaking them when releasing them.

Here's a tip though: NEVER FORCE SOMETHING THAT IS DELICATE.

Meaning, instead of forcing it try another method.

You must have pulled it pretty hard. The CDs are pretty flexible after all.

Try and take it back. I'm sure they will let you exchange it for new, but they probably won't let you return it for a refund.

If they don't even let you exchange it, download a copy or copy it off someone else. It will be perfectly legal because you own the game already.

Well thats the only reason CD images of games are floating around the internet. The legitimate reason is to be able to have backups of games, without having to deal with the built in copy protections on the CD.

If anyone comes after your ass about downloading games, there will be nothing to worry about because you already bought the game.

Now that I think of it, if none of the above work, the game publisher probably would allow you to mail in the game in exchange for a new one.

Return it and make damn sure they give you a new copy. I hate this shit as well. Sometimes I needed to bend them so far I feared that they would break, as has happened to you now.

Well, I got a new copy and didn't even need to show the receipt. Those nice guys at HMV. :^) If anyone's interested, the game was tomb raider:AOD - so if you buy it, you'd best leave the disks in a little plastic package. This way there's no chance of bending or breaking one.

And I agree, downloading the game from a third party wouldn't be considered illegal since you have paid for it.
