Just to give you more information on your options since its better to walk into a pool than an ocean.
Dual Booting is where on startup you have the option of starting your computer in a different operating system. So if you wanted to use some linux programs and you were in windows you would have to restart and start your computer on the linux partitian. A good thing to know about Dual Booting is that you can not have both operating systems running at the same time.
Dual Booting would probably be the best choice for you if:
~ You dont know a lot about linux.
~ Your not completely sure on the programs you will be using.
~ You only have one computer accessible for daily tasks.
~ You have enough Hard Drive space to comfortable fit both operating systems

By the way. I read somewhere you can't just save iso files as normal files... How do you burn them?
* EDIT * I just noticed earlyer in the topic how to burn the files.

If you do realise that iw will take a lot of time to get used to it. Linux is good for many things but if you are gaming, don't go for it.

Well you got the hard part down. Getting used to it at least. I just gave up on that nd reverted back to windows after 2 days of trying linux. I didn't really give it a good chance, but i'm also quite happy with windows 2000, so theres no need to change.
Maybe there are other distros of linux that will work with ATI cards. There are lots of distros out there.

Linux can be pronounced almost any way you like. There's no "right" way to pronounce it.
Before any more of you decide to wipe your hard drives and whine because you didn't like it, stop and think. You are installing an entire operating system. Are you sure you're going to like it. Believe me, it really sucks when you download burn, and install several CDs of a distro or another OS (like *BSD) that's too advanced, unstable, etc. Try a Live CD BEFORE you try to install Linux on your hard drive! Take a look at this list of live CD distros. You should be able to pick out at least one.
Also, just saying "linux" isn't going help people help you. There are hundreds or thousands of distros out there., each one is a different, more or less. Are you using Red Hat/Fedora? Mandrake? SUSE? Debian? Knoppix? Gentoo? Not only that but there are several GUIs available for Linux: KDE, Gnome, Fluxbox, WindowMaker, XFCE, etc.
There are alot of choices out there. You really need to take your time and make sure it's what you want or need. Check supported hardware, look at screenshots, ask for advice, and so on. I'd reccommend Mandrake for newbies, but you can still browse this list of distributions
PS
Make sure you take your time; don't rush. Are sorry if I sound snotty, it's late.

Smoothwall & Slackware is good for hardware firewalls. That is, it you want to turn one of your computers into a big firewall/router.

I personally reccomend SUSE for beginers. It's pretty easy to use, I reinstalled windows shortly ago due to a virus and now I need to reinstall Linux. I hate Windows. I only use windows for games, I use SUSE for everythign else chat, internet, programming, school work, and other stuff.
