It will do that without overclocking. Thats why your system wont start if there isnt a fan present.

Somesay it is fake and that it would melt. With no personal experience or actually photos of a "melted" processor I personally believe it blew up Very Happy . Why?

A: The processor may have expanded to the point where there was some pressure created by it against the board it shot out like a cork in a wine bottle.

B: Its a hell'ofa lot cool to think of it that way

In my PC class we learned that if the processor fan goes out on a P4 it will melt in 90 seconds if messures ain't taken to cool it down in there Wink

Majiin Vegeta

Thats the only place where I can find it to be fake. Unless thye cut the hole in the table so the processor would not burn a hole through it, since the motherboard is sitting directly on the table. The processor would still be getting pretty hot if was cooled properly. Most likely they put a firecracker there...

Wrong wrong, This doesnt Count for The Pentium 4.
Since the (Willametta core) the p4 has a protection that as soon it notices its not being cooled, The pc wont boot at all (black screen ) ore will shutdown as soon as possible

i forgot the name for this sort of protection.
But AMD has it to SInce the AMD 64.

Older Proccesors (ea) AMD T-bird didnt have this protection
Meaning if u would run it without a cooler it would die soon (probly)

About the melting part. i have seen a p4 black once on a pick, but that was some time ago HardwareOCP 4.0 Ghz... it died

Also it will downclock itself in case it gets too hot.

Tomshardware.com showed that AMD Processors (that they tested) all melted in seconds. However, P4s slow down enough to cool themselves, and if not, they turn the system off automatticaly.

Read what i said, that sytsem in the CPU COULD and i say COULD fail and accidently not cool it down fast enough, i know this. It woudln't have been on A+ exam if it wasn't somewhat true or couldn't ever happen.

I once forgot to put back on an heatsink on my AMD AthlonXP 1800+ processor.
It didn't do anything like that, just burn, you can see on the core the burnt areas

Wow! PC class... everyone in my area doesn't know anything about computers, they all suck at it and all they talk about are sports, fucking annoying when you go: "Hey, teacher said to center the poem." And the responce is: "How the fuck do I do that?"

They all talk about sports, sleep dreaming about sports, get girl friends just to say they have them, and all the while hate each other behind their backs. I'd rather be a friendly computer geek.

No. Seriously. No.

My school is the first completly wireless in the nation, we won a bunch of grants (and yes its public school). Every room has Dell Laptps (30 of them) and we don't use black boards, we use Smart Boards (big touch computer screens basicly)

I've completed A+, im currently taking Advanced CISCO networking class, and Microsoft class so i can be certified in a range of Microsoft products.

"I need you to hack this computer for me and destroy all the information on it!"

"Pfft... if it's microsoft it will destroy the information itself."

this video is such a fake i cant even watch it again, in my entire live ive never seen cpu exploding like that, and they took off cooler pretty easily, also u know how hard is to crash cpu into 3 pieces? overheating wouldnt break cpu into 3 pieces, nor make a hole in the motherboard,
also, this computer wasnt even hooked up to the monitor, what u can see on the monitor is proly from the different computer..
